Wait you really asking this? Is it shocking to you that gay are less accepted than lesbians (albeit being the same thing) in this world ruled by men?

    I mean really...

Imagine that; two girls touching each other's titty balls... gently stroking those nipples till they just get so STIFF and erect. Blowing on them.

@ Kuroikage - Hes right actually. As much as I accept gay/lesbians, if that wasn't happening at my table, I'd probably stay the fuck out. It just comes with the territory I suppose. ;/

And that has what to do with someone being nosey? Sounds more to me like a lack of a spine than anyone being nosey in any case.
People clearly being harassed and you're just going to sit there? It's not as if they aren't purposefully being loud enough for people at surrounding tables to hear everything even without trying (as this is the entire point) so you can pretty much through that outta the window.

There is no excuse for just sitting there and not saying something. Unless you agree with the harassment. Basically your silence condones the action.

What does "p." mean? Is that gay slang for something?

Maybe it is lack of spine. But idk man... Most New Yorkers really just don't give a shit about other people despite their own beliefs. 9/11 happened; everyone is all "United We Stand" - October rolls around; back to "Get the fuck outta my way."

Theres a very fine line between condoning actions through silence and being completely apathetic for the world around you. Sad reality of things.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Yeah, I agree. I watched 9/11 happen live on TV.(I was off that day). And even though I watched the events and still remember it vividly, I wasnt invested emotionally since I only had one friend that lived in NY, and he was in town visiting at that time. So after a while I stopped caring.

So did every other person in the world that was not directly affected. And probably even most people that were stopped caring a long time ago too i'm sure.

Pretty certain they just said they were defended less often. They showed the one instance where nobody did shit as they got kicked out, but there were at least 2, maybe 3 shots of people defending the men.

Very, very small sample size + many, many unchecked variables = worthless to draw any conclusions.

My instinctive reaction is to say that today's western societies have grown more accepting of lesbians over gay males, but i think the idea that women are caretakers and men are not might have something to do with it. If i'm not mistaken, if given the choice between a single father and a single mother, there might be lots of people who would prefer the latter.

The only reason that lesbians are treated with reverence, rather than the revulsion which gay men are subjected to, is because we live in a patriarchal society which finds the concept of two women having sex enticing.

Not to mention people are more willing to white knight for women because they perceive them as weaker and wanting for protection, whereas men can and should fend for themselves.

That said, these observations prove little more than what we already know about the two regions. Southerners are more likely to be hospitable, whereas Northerners (specifically New Yorkers) are raised with the aforementioned idea that they need to mind their own business at all costs.

When people think of lesbians, they generally think of something along the lines of:

    instead of the more realistic:

Whereas, when people think of gay men, they pretty much always think something along the lines of:

I don't think even flooding the media with hot beefy gay men will help.
