The Castlevania player in me is intrigued
I put it in the XBLA thread a while back, didnt know if it was worthy of a topic really, didnt feel like outside of myself anyone enjoyed this franchise.
The other games were terrible.
This just piqued my curiosity because it's Castlevania-ish![]()
I'd pop 10 boners if it looked anything like Castlevania but... I'm really not seeing it. Just looks like an average sidescroller/beat em up.
I liked Bloodrayne a lot too, plus this is being developed by WayForward which is known for some pretty high quality 2D games (Shantae, Boy and His Blob), so I am definitely looking forward to this too
The fact it looks like a (pretty) flash game kinda has me going meh. Then again, I hadn't played the old ones, either.
It's been compared more to Shank than Castlevania. Also, posted this vid in console wars.
Actually went back and played Bloodrayne 2 a couple weeks back when we had no internet still.

BloodRayne: Betrayal dev talks about its 'beautiful mess'
WayForward's upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title BloodRayne: Betrayal is already turning (and rolling) heads. We got our first glimpse at the gorgeous HD side-scroller in action last week with the game's debut trailer.
This week, publisher Majesco has released the first in a series of developer diaries featuring designer/director Sean Valasco. The developer starts by shedding light on the game's visuals, powered by its next-generation side-scrolling HD tech.
What that means is thousands and thousands of frames of in-game animation... and a whole hell of a lot of blood.
"We put a lot of work into the a fluid dynamic system so we could create really realistic flowing blood particles," he explains to the delight of gorehound gamers everywhere.
It shows: the footage in the developer diary is soaked in red, with Rayne sucking life from enemies, and lopping off heads which roll across the ground.
"We just wanted this kind of cacophony of disaster," he says, later adding "it's like a beautiful mess."
BloodRayne: Betrayal is out this summer; we'll see and play more at E3 next week.
Played this last night at a friends house, enjoyed the fuck out of it. I'm buying it for my xbox tonight. It reminds me of a 2d current gen ninja gaiden, more simple in execution but still just as fun. I didn't catch to see how long or how much it is, but if its 10 bucks I'm so there.
It's free for PS+ users currently, but that might change in 2-3 hours when they update the instant game collection for the month.
I didn't know what to think of the game. It reminded me of Shank on the matter of enemies with guns being infuriating.
