Perhaps I'm being too subtle here. I'm not arguing against the possibility you're theory is incorrect, but that you're basically questioning shit that doesnt even matter. 250->300 quality shows a huge jump in the trial, and you expect dLVL to effect that non-proportionally for whatever reason. So with your theory, with a higher dLVL, you're going to have the same slow curve upwards... except now 350 quality is where the big gains are. With a lower dLVL, the big jump occurs at 250.

..So? Were you going to stop building quality at 300 on something hard you wanted to HQ? Are you 'wasting' something by continuing to build past 250 on an easy synth?

Theres quality and durability. Durability completes the synth at 100, and all extra resources are poured into quality regardless. Your theory being correct wouldn't change anything, and thats why I called it irrelevant. It's just a nice nugget of knowledge to have. and that's all.

That's an interesting rebuttal. If I understand you correctly, knowing what the particular sweet spot for quality is for your particular dLVL is useless, because it's not like you're just going to stop building quality at that particular number.

If that's true, why do you care about the quality sweet spot at all? I mean, it's not like you're just going to stop building quality when you hit 300, right?

Either you care about hitting specific quality targets for HQ%, or you don't.
If you do, it's in your best interest to determine all relevant variables for HQ% (and dLVL seems a rather obvious one).
If you don't, then just spam max quality on all synths.

It's not even that you're arguing against the theory of dLVL being a variable factor (hell, you may even be right on that); it's that you're arguing that such data is clearly not worth investigating. Which is silly.

Id still be surprised if dLVL did anything to the sweet spot though, as it already increases the difficulty to get quality. Making it harder to get + raising the sweet spot would be pretty brutal.

Fiddle Sticks, you mention there is a change in miss rate with a large increase in DEX, but I'm wondering what the actual measured change is? Did I just miss it?

Oh sorry, didn't mean to imply that they are my test results. These were not done by me, I just re-posted them.

Let me look over the info and see if I can get an answer for you.

Ah, I see, I followed the links and found the source. It appears the differences are quite small. http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?foru...31587296262403
