I actually like both creatures immensely. I've lived with both. I currently own a cat. My housemate owns one as well. We also foster animals that are on kill lists till they can find homes. Two max. Cats are shitloads easier to foster.

If you could take the barking away dogs would be 15x better. Take the smell away 3x better. Take the maintenance of shitting outside and needing walks 5x better. Without all of that they could probably be better than cats.
