Man, every time I play FFT I put in my birthday, and every time I get to the 1v1 on Wiegraf I remember that our signs align for pain.

Everybody in California tends to be far enough from each other that stuff like that is a pain.
As far as I know, me and Archi have the least distance between, but it's still a pain for me to get from here to there until some of the new light rail lines open.

Up until Sunday I was not able to get past the beginning of the Water Hazard chapter because the purple barrels just would not spawn. Luckily, I managed to finally fix the glitch.

Damn that Chopper to hell. Good news though, the Magnum is awesome.

I arrived at Ravenholm last night. What a perfect time to exploit the Gravity Gun, Valve. I take a shit so often when the fast zombie come out I don't even know what the hell to grab. The Razor Blades + Gravity Gun attack is incredibly satisfying though.

My thoughts on the games I have completed in one paragraph:

Ico: It's been a few months since I completed Ico and honestly, I can't help but like it. The game is simple, beautiful and overall very well directed. Most of the puzzles are pretty straightforward and moderately challenging. It never really feels like drag. What else is there to say other than it has possibly the greatest box art cover for game.

Shadow of the Colossus: Dear god, this game was a trip. The land you explore is so gorgeous yet, it still gives off this aura of mystery that simply draws you in. Of course, the highlight of this game is the utterly massive boss fights. This is pure audiovisual dopamine for me and I loved every second of these boss fights. When a creature in a video game can invoke a sense of fear and dread like the water serpent in the lake ruins did to me, I know the game I am playing is amazing.

Bioshock: I went into Bioshock with high expectations due to all the praise my friends (not to mention people all over the internet) were showering the game with. Ultimately, what I discovered was game with a dark atmosphere, rich gameplay and a pretty interesting story overall. It's not the holy grail that I thought it was going to be but, it was excellent and definitely a step in the right direction for games.

Resident Evil 4: It's incredible to believe I played RE5 before I played this. Holy shit, where to start. The gameplay is fun as hell and the settings are appropriately dark and teeming with character. The second half of the game has some of the best jump-out-your-seat scares I've had in a while. Credit must be given to the insane designs for some of the boss enemies. I wish I could go on, but yeah, one paragraph. Easily one of the greatest games ever made.

Castlevania - Symphony of the Night: This game was good. I honestly preferred Dawn of Sorrow over this but taken within the context of its time, it's nothing short of astounding. I believe it is worth noting, did the Crissaegrim sword happen to fly over Igarashi's head during development or did he purposely decide to leave such a broken weapon in the game?

Final Fantasy Tactics: Right out of the gate - whoever was in charge of translating the script needs to be grilled over a fire immediately. Tactics was such a mixed bag for me. The presentation, characters and challenge were a step up from Tactics Advance, but they lacked the polish and refinement of the GBA classic. I prefer Tactics Advance job system over Tactics but it's hard not to love the broken nature of it. Special praise must be mentioned to the story for actually having a three dimensional problem with compelling characters. A very memorable game that could have been more memorable if weren't for that damn translation.

I had the foresight to make Ramza into a death dealing, telporting Squire/Ninja so Wiegraf wasn't actually difficult...at first. Then he switches to Velius mode and I want him and his cunty associates to go eat the biggest bag of dicks at Square's corporate headquarters.

I'm pretty psyched to play Trigger. Cross on the other hand - well, I've heard some pretty divided opinions about it.

It's the purist argument. It's a good game on it's own. If you compare it to Trigger you'll just be pissed off. So if you're capable of keeping that in mind, you'll enjoy it. If not, don't.

There's broken shit in all the RPG Castlevania games. Crissaegrim is in Aria and Dawn of Sorrow too (renamed to Valmanway).

Also CT isn't anything special if you go back and play it now and Cross is a better game. Deal w/ it.

It's not nearly as fun in Dawn of Sorrow as it is in Symphony of the Night. Besides, katana-swinging Soma is infinitely cooler.
