So... why are people excited about paying for three games that they already own again?
It's not like they have improved anything. Same graphics, same gameplay, same everything. If there's something that is supposed to make me feel excited and I missed it please tell me.

My PS2 is busted and the PC version is fucking awful. Also the EU PS2 version didn't have turbo mode and I assume this will.

If anything, the extra clarity from 720p and the widescreen support will actually affect the gameplay some, unless you're one of those folks that has every enemy position memorized to the point of not needing to guess if those shimmering pixels near the side of the screen is aliasing at 480i or an enemy.

Am glad they pussy-moded the trophies for DMC2 though. DMC3 ones should be fun on the other hand....

I bought DMC1, DMC2, DMC3, DMC3 SE. Then py ps2 broke and I traded off my ps2 games. Got a new PS2, bought the PS2 collector set.
And I'll buy this without a second thought even though I still have that collector set.
I wonder why they never came out with trophies for DMC4. Seems like now would be a great time. Come out with trophies for DMC4 just intime for dmcHD. Same with MGS. Shoulda had trophies for 4 as well!

Costs a lot to contract developers after the fact to poke at old code to inject some trophy pop-ups without hopefully breaking anything in the process. Not to mention paying the service fee to Sony/Microsoft to Q&A and host said patch.

How was the original DMC anyways? I only played the Dante side of DMC2 (rental), and just beat DMC3:SE once (was more interested in my PS3 games at the time of picking DM3:SE up).

I got a lot of reason to pick it up assuming the port job isn't too botched or as ugly looking as the original screenshots teased. I want to see what DMD & Heaven or Hell difficulty is like.

Because of the trophies, I'll be playing as the girl and Trish in DMC2 for the very first time.

@Kaisha; DMC1 is a lot more basic compared to 3, but still good. It kind of reminds me of Onimusha. Somewhat similar gameplay.

DMC in HD is delicious. Don't think they redid some of the menus, though.

Cracked into this today, and am loving it so far. Much better than Silent Hills HD collection

I'm reading you can't adjust the camera, is that as frustrating as it sounds? And yea, Silent hill collection looked dated as hell.

I never really had a problem with camera outside of corridors, it's intelligent enough. The widescreen will help a lot in giving more real estate to keep you aware of your surroundings over the original 4:3 version anyway.



IGN gave the pack a 7.5, which sounds about right since they essentially did nothing to the games besides 720p and achievement/trophies. Wouldn't kill them to at least hire an artist to touch up the interface if they can't be arsed to touch up the textures that become an eye-sore as seen multiple times in the gameplay video up above.
