Also i can't see Gus just letting Walt walk away after his 3 months are up, so i'm sure there will be more to that relationship.

Seriously. Gus turned the two brothers off of Walt, warned Hank(I can only assume, who else would know?), then killed the other brother and killed that other boss too, all of which came from trying to protect Walt & his family. Gus has some serious ambitions with Walt up his sleeve, but I have no idea what they are.
He also has to be pretty pissed about Walt not meeting his quota. Inviting Jeese in has already produced bad results. Is he giving Walt a free pass because of Hank?

I think Gus only does those things to gain leverage over Walt. He like Walt and he likes Walt's abilities and style. He just does things better than Walt. This episode most definitely taught Walt that Gus is three steps ahead of him at all times.

Anybody catch the previews running last night maybe right before the episode that had some talk of a DEA informant inside Gus's organization + the hints in that preview made it seem like it would be Jesse?

It took me about 5 seconds to realize why Jesse's friends were in his rehab group, and when i did i had a big smile on my face.

And wow at Skyler's story at the end. I was getting ready to like her again, thinking she was into Walt again. Then the last scene happened.

I was watching it with my girlfriend and we laughed at how Skyler becomes more and more likable the more and more she lets herself accept the idea of the dark side. The way Walt looked at her at the end when she crafted that really elaborate cover for Walt's money was amazing. He was ready to jump her bones then and there. I also loved his delivery of "beyond seven figures."

The NA meeting was as heart breaking as it was hysterical. Jesse's arc is interesting because he's breaking bad from breaking bad. He's on his way to some serious trouble. But really, they all seem to be.

I was also really impressed by Walt tonight and how he correctly sized up Gus. Just when it seemed like he was so far ahead, Walt shrinks the distance between them. Of course Gus is so calculating that he probably knew it was coming and, without batting an eye, makes his counter offer.

Really interesting episode. Maybe not as explosive as the last few episodes, but next week looks insane. It was kind of nice to have an episode end and not have to pine for next week to be here already.

I agree that Walt's face when Skylar got into her story was good, but her face when he said 7 figures instead of the quarter million that she was expecting him to say was far better. And oh god, the NA scene...

Jesse is going to fuck himself so hard with this latest scheme. Of course, I think it might take Gus a while to discover that something's up. After all, it's the exact same product. I wonder how Walt is going to try to smooth things over once Gus finds out, and I wonder if it will stop the hammer from coming down. Of course, considering Walt and Jesse's luck of narrowly escaping from most of their extremely bad situations, I think the timing will be such that Gus will go down shortly before administering Jesse's punishment. I also think that Jesse will be the indirect cause of Gus's downfall (He'll lead the DEA to the lab or something).

It'd be awesome to see a spinoff with Gus but I'm guessing there will be some mass carnage/death/prison at the end of this season.

Ok, so I just marathoned this series...and holy fuck. It's been a while (Dexter season 1) since I've been on the edge of my seat this often.

As for number of Seasons...I read that they wanna do a 4th one and then stop.

PS: It took me a whole 15 episodes to...figure out that Walt is played by Hal from Malcolm in the Middle. I'm ashamed of myself.

But I saw a recent-ish interview with him and with hair and no moustache he looks like Hal again...either the put a lot of make-up on him in that interview or they put a lot of make-up on him for Breaking Bad. Plus I never watched Malcolm in the Middle in English...so his voice didn't ring a bell either :s

They definitely have a finite timetable to the series and it's probably for the best. Almost every television show that I love just doesn't last very long.

Shit storm is brewing after 2 decisions this week.

First we got Skylar telling Marie about the money from his "gambling problem." Marie can't keep her mouth shut, and Hank isn't as retarded as she is. When he finds out he will put two and two together. He already knows Walt has ties with Jesse from the "pot smoking." He knows Jesse owned the RV/called his cellphone (well knows he had something to do with that last one) If he finds out Walt has a shit load of money, then Walt is fucked. Hank knows that he is a genius in chemistry already and that the meth came around the time Walt got his cancer.

Also we got Jesse starting up his own business. Gus is going to figure out that the only way blue meth being on the market in that town is coming from Jesse. If he fucked the cartel as hard as he did, imagine what he'll do to Jesse. His opinion isn't that high of him in the first place.

Walt's surrounded by stupid people, but in the next few episodes shit's going to go crazy.

I had some doubts about the episode at first. I enjoy some crazy Walt as much as anybody, but I wasn't sure where they were going. It got really poignant, really quietly intense, really fast. I was on the edge of my seat.

This show is just so good. I don't think I've ever seen a better written show. Everything that happens always just makes sense considering what had happened before it. The writers never write themselves into a corner. There are no holes, and all of the characters' actions are consistent with their personality except where they pointedly try to change themselves. I don't think I've seen a single plot device that exists on Tvtropes.com. It's just a good story told well.

Hank probably already has enough pieces to put it together, but he has one very severe mental block that will probably continue to keep him from making that one last crucial connection- and that is his complete trust in Walt. As far as Hank is concerned, Walt is a boyscout. He's never had any reason to suspect that Walt is anything other than a smart, tidy, law abiding, model citizen.

He's seen Walt be a little bit unstable (the party where he let Walt Jr. Drink, and his "episode" where he ended up naked in the store), but Walt's cancer provided the perfect justification for those actions. Hank has never even considered that Walt would compromise his morals. If I remember right, he flat out refused Marie's proposal that perhaps Walt was cheating on Skylar.

Some might argue the "Pot incident" as Hank sees it, but if you recall, Hank kinda giggled when Marie played it up like a major fiasco then revealed that she was talking about Pot. It's obvious that, despite being a DEA agent, Hank doesn't consider Pot to really be bad. Notice his half-hearted lecture he tried to give Walt Jr. Furthermore, in Hank's mind, the Cancer completely justifies the Pot thereby keeping Walt's squeaky clean moral standard perfectly intact.

In other words, Hank wouldn't believe that Walt was involved unless he heard it from Walt's own mouth.
