This was one of my fav episodes of the series. This was the first Episode that I didn't think Skylar was a massive Cunt. Walt was being Walt as per the norm, and Gus wanting to send Jesse to Mexico. Just....wow.

I love this show so much.

Walt is still trying to cope with losing his control of the situation. With Crazy 8 and Tuco, he was the brains of the operation and he could choose his own actions. He ran wild for a bit under Gus until Gus showed him who the fucking Alpha of the group really was. Jesse, on the other hand, is starting to get accustomed to a looser leash and a different hand pulling it. Though I suppose the leash isn't really any looser; more like he just switched to a shock collar. So Walt is still trying to order Jesse around, and Jesse is slowly realizing that Walt doesn't have any power over him anymore.

I think Jesse is very quickly catching up to Walt in terms of awareness of their situation. He's realizing now just how truly fucked they likely are. The problem is, Walt is still treating him like an ignorant child (which he well deserved up until recently). Jesse knows that Walt is his only friend (Hence asking him for help with the Chemistry), but he isn't going to put up with being treated like an idiot anymore.

So basically, if Walt can't come to show some respect to Jesse, then they aren't likely to reconcile, and since neither of them can do really do shit by themselves (Walt basically having his hands tied, and Jesse not seeing deep enough to find a solution), they're pretty well fucked.

I predict that Walt is going to try to force something with Gus, and he's going to get slapped down pretty hard. I think Walt is then going to be tempted to start feeding Hank some real clues, and it's going to force Gus's hand. With the Cartel breathing down his neck, I think he's going to be desperate to control the situation, and is going to involve Walt's family and/or Hank for real this time. I think that during this, Jesse is going to be trying to work his own way out, and while this is going down, he'll probably see some opportunity to take a shot at Gus and/or Mike. They're going to follow Walt's side of the story almost exclusively, and then Jesse is going to come out of left field and save the day with his own plan that he had been working on- calling it now.

Oh, and Skylar is going to bail out Ted in an effort to keep the government's eyes off of her. He's going to know something's up, and Skylar is probably going to end up fucking him again to keep him quiet. Or if she doesn't actually fuck him, he's at least going to hound her for a bit asking questions and Walt is going to go ballistic when he sees them meeting and probably do something crazy like beat the shit out of him or burn his business to the ground or something.

Skyler was forced to take some action or feds would be after her for tax fraud. Smart idea on her plan. This idiot better put that money to use. I hate skyler's ex-boss, such a stupid character.

It will, which is predictable. Show needs to focus on the Cartel and not on Skylar's crap.

Skyler needs some sort of storyline to be involved in other than "be a total shrew who only exists to ineffectively clash with Walt." I'm all for her complicating things along the same lines as Walt does frequently. It's a lot easier to screw up that way than she seems to think.

I really hate pretty much everything about Skyler. Watching scenes with her makes me feel like I have my own real life wife nagging at me and being a bitch. Fuck that, time to take care of her like Dexter's writers did Rita.

That's the thing, it was the writers that made Rita into an unbearable bitch in Dexter, just like the writers are doing to Skyler in Breaking bad. It's either lazy writing to make her into a foil or it's going to build into something awesome. I hope it's the latter.

Skyler pulling that move in the tax office actually made me like her quite a bit more, she may be a bitch most of the time but she's got a good head on her shoulders and at least tries to act levelheaded. Walt + Jessie scrapping best part of the episode, can't wait to see how their relationship devolves and tensions thicken...
