Well..even tho the dexter thing makes sense (loved it when I was a kid and still do lol) I still don't find any real evidence here supporting your peoples answers. And yet I still haven't researched myself on this matter cause I am lazy atm and was hoping for a quick answer. This is what I get. 1. Stop being lazy, go research for yourself.

2. While we're on the subject of not being lazy, just learn the damn language by following the instructions. If Rosetta Stone wanted you to learn while you slept, they'd sell you a package that allowed you to learn while you sleep. They are, after all, supposedly the best way to learn a new language. Why wouldn't they want you to learn at a convenient time?

Shit doesn't work, because if it did, there would be no need for foreign language classes in schools. Parents would play endless loops of language lessons while their kids slept at night, and 'Merica would be a lot more multi-lingual.

I had to memorize the Hamlet To be or not to be soliloquy in high school, so on the day before it I tried doing this, and it.. kinda worked OK

I mean, I had also been practicing the day before, and I was pretty good at it before going to sleep, and doing this seemed to help reinforce it a little bit. Next day I still didn't have the entire thing fully 100% memorized, but was able to get through the entire thing on the spot.

I want to say that it helped a little bit, I think.

(I still have a good 75% of the thing memorized lol)
