cut and shoot or some shit, huh?
cut and shoot or some shit, huh?
man, I spend very little time up there... the only times I ever even went to dallas were for work, so I never thought it was that great.
maybe one day I will go there when I am not obligated to... but I probably won't.
and the 4 hour drive (8 hours both ways) there made the experience that much less fun each time
I used to go camping a lot in Boy Scouts and I'm pretty sure their entire goal was to make you as miserable as possible. I remember at Summer Camp they wouldn't let you hang out at the campsite, you HAD to be out working on merit badges, so I'd go to the arts and crafts station and chill with my friends all day.
im really old though so i have a pretty high success rate
so maybe the camp was worth it, a necessary evil
But do you know how many times he's had to fashion a God's Eye out of popsicle sticks and colored yarn since then?
Well, probably at least a couple.. but still
Oh man, this just reminded me.
Right about the time Wizards bought TSR, they did this D&D (and I think M:tG) summer camp. One of my friends in jr. high actually went to it, and came back with all this 2nd ed swag and tales, and I was really bummed that I'd never be able to afford anything like that.
I went to summer camps where it was more like daycare type shit, but we had presentations and field trips to different places. Older kids went on field trips every day. When i got older i ended up working as a counselor, going on field trips and amusement parks daily was the shit, even if I was over 18... I pretty much got paid to play all day
The one time I went to sleep away camp was one of the most baller experiences I ever had because it had so much shit for you to do. Before you go, you get a list if activities you're allowed to choose from in the span of 2 days for a total of 10 different activities. I was 8 years old so I don't remember what exactly I did but I do remember there was a go-kart course, an archery course, you could shoot air rifles, every mainstream sport, arts and crafts (if you were a faggot), swimming at the lake.
The crazy shit about all of this is that it was a catholic camp in New Hampshire. Last thing you associate Roman Catholic and New Hampshire is with fun. Thinking about it, in hindsight there weren't many girls but fuck it I was 8 years old.
