Yup. It looks really good on a resume when you walk out on a job, and your old boss will become a great reference.

Pretty fucking much. If I had a pass to E3 and was 2 days away from leaving my job I'd say fuck it too.

WiiU will be interesting. I'm just glad they brought it's hardware up to snuff. It'll be interesting to see how developers use the controller. It has potential seeing how touch pads are pretty much the way everything is moving. They just need to make sure that they come out with a basic controller too and not only the one that we've seen. Other than that, I think the one we've seen could make for some hella fun stuff, especially RPGs.

Wii U sounds great for people who want a wii but dont have one .... which is no one, the thing is dead on arrival.

appletv+ipad can do this already, ps3+android tablets will have this and ms will have tablets that interact with 360 by the time the wii u come out.

Seems like the Wii U will only support one touchscreen controller, they won't be sold separately, because the Wii U isn't powerful enough to send the controller image to multiple controllers at once:

    http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/...ler-per-wii-u/

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, speaking with news.com.au, you'll likely only be able to use one of Wii U's fancy new touchscreen controllers on the system at a time -- which explains the reports circulating yesterday that the controller would not be sold separately.
"Our basic premise is that you can use one with a system," said Miyamoto. "If we got to an idea of having multiple, it might be just more convenient for people to use their Nintendo 3DS and have a way to connect that. That being said, we are doing research about if someone brings their controller to their friend's house and they want to play together on Wii U to whether or not something like that would be possible."
Part of the reason behind this may be the fact that even with the Wii U's enhanced processing power over its predecessor, there might still not enough there to run more than one of the controllers at once. During the reveal of the console, it was explained that the image on the screen of the controller was actually generated by the Wii U base unit and transmitted wirelessly to the controller, rather than the controller containing its own standalone processor and graphics hardware. If this is the case, then using multiple controllers would put a proportionally-greater strain on the Wii U system.
Players who don't use the Wii U-specific controller will presumably be relegated to Wii Remotes, Classic Controllers or equivalents. And the tech demos on display at E3 show that it's possible for the Wii Remote-wielding players to have a very different experience to the Wii U controller user -- not necessarily a bad thing. Games will presumably, then, be designed with this limitation in mind.

A couple of us assumed during the unveil that you can only use 1 WiiU controller. It seems that a lot of people think that they will be playing their Modern Warfare 3 with the WiiU controller. WiiU supports all of the old peripherals, and you will most like be playing with that, the WiiMote, or a classic controller. In fact, when developers starting porting tiles from the Xbox to the WiiU, I will bet that the controller will be completely optional.

    Isn't it over now? (at 4 p.m.)?

My boss gave me notes so I'm free essentially but I think it's a waste to come down now right?

That's kinda weird imo.. If they're talking about say FPS games, it seems being able to get all the HUD information off the screen would help for splitscreen. Also, in sports games, wasn't one of the things they were talking about was being able to pick your plays on the touch screen without letting others see?

Pass the board around to each player as they get to input commands?
Either that, or one person gets to use it at one time(perhaps, on offense) and the other player(defense) isn't allowed to see it.

A single commercial that show a grandma playing sudoku on a tablet controller, and suddently, 60 millions consoles are sold.

With the possibility that only 1 "tablet" controller can be used at a time, dies the only thing that appeals about it to me. The private screen thing was amazing and fun for multiplayer games like Zelda: Four Swords and the original Crystal Chronicles. When the gimmick starts creating limitations on itself, it's going to get pretty stupid. My hopes are not up in any way.

Agreed. I feel like the controller is just a bit of shine on an otherwise mostly unimpressive WiiHD. If there can indeed be two in use at one time however that is will be a bit easier to overlook. I still really don't see myself getting one.

Yeah, and I'm not expecting a lot of people to have a 3DS to bring over as a controller. That's laughable. Gameboy SPs were another story.

Was talking to a friend of mine earlier about this speculation on the Wii U controller and he refuses to believe it will go down that way. His main defense and argument is "What if you break one? Are they really not going to sell them? What if I break one?" I can understand not selling a power brick, or making it harder to find a power cord replacement, but with something like a controller that is so entirely used and part of the physical process of using the console... do we really think that they won't sell them?
