    Cool beans. Guess this makes up for our previously-crappy AF3 set bonus huh.


    Also I imagine this new JA (and it better be on a 1 min max timer) will function just like DNC - it will ready the target for an SC, but hopefully it will trigger whatever the primary alignment of the WS you use to close is.

    E.G., Kasha is Fusion primary, so new JA followed by Kasha = Fusion SC. Light for Fudo/Kaiten etc etc. Also YAY for Store TP again at 90, makes that 4-hit masa build that much easier to get. Not sure if it's enough to remove Carbonara from the equation though.


    What I'm curious about now having just gotten BLU 90 last night, is if 91 will be the final batch of points. It was tolerable at 75, since you were 6 levels away from the next batch but at 99 you're only 2 from supposedly another +5, so maybe they'll be nice and give BLU a final boost of 5 points at 99? And yes I'm aware of assimilation.

    If sam's SC JA is < level 50 then dnc/sam may have gotten yet another weapon added to its arsenal for epic SCing. Curious to see if it adds SC bonus which will be awesome, or is the same as WF, in which case its still pretty sweet as that lets me open T1 SC without using up my Flourishes II, which allows me to reverse flourish after opening for a tier 2 SC. Dunno if it'll top sekka SC combo though, that still is hands down the best.

    Tier 2 Helix would kick ass though. Be nice if someone at SE actually played PLD, then maybe they might have an idea of what's wrong with it.

    Also, make Insurgency a crit ws already.

    If they're determined to keep PLD as the only purely defensive job in the game, making Cover a job trait instead of an ability would go a long way. The gear enhancing Cover would actually be worth carrying around, and then it wouldn't matter if PLD could hold hate or not. Stack everyone behind him and you're golden. Change the G1 Cover merit to -6% damage taken while covering someone, and rise by 1%/merit to a cap of -10% damage taken while covering someone.

    Honestly that sounds quite brilliant. You'd likely have to take care not to get caught by conal/gaze attacks tho, but other than that.. Would probably make the job a lot more relevant again. I hope they institute something similar if not this exactly, sounds fun to play.

    Yeah, I was playing FFIII on my DS and the Knight job gave me the idea. There are plenty of ways SE could go about fixing PLD but that just seems like one of the simplest ways, and it doesn't give it any edge as far as soloing goes either.

    A lot of people have suggested similar but SE wants people to actually be able to pull hate and they want it to be negative. The thing is even if Pld could hold hate 100% of the time for most people Pld is simply a optional safety net. This won't change unless they nerfed the defensive ability if DD jobs but that would loss off a lot of people.

    Yeah that's how it worked in the FF4 DS remake too, and it's just brilliant. IIRC, you can even get an accessory or job traits or something to further enhance cover. Basically, you have Cecil cover 1 person and he'll continue to take hits for them until either he dies or you cancel the effect. That's kinda what I was hoping for when I started to read the notes but knowing SE, they're going to do something stupid with it like shorten the recast.

    It's about the only thing they can do at this point (or one of anyway, that wouldn't be OP) to make the job relevant again because there's just no way in hell a PLD can keep up with the enmity generation of a good DD these days. A PLD-only trait to raise their hate cap would also be nice.
