If my friend ever gets back, I can try my hand at tanking. Would be great if you're a healer. He's bad at games.

Edit: On an alt I mean, have one around 16 or something right now.

Yeah im gonna focus on the healer classes for CB. If I get bard maxed out before my physical level goes up, then i'll swap to cleric etc etc

I'm surprised that it would be hard to find tanks. Its usually healing classes that are never around when you need them. At least in my experience.

I've only seen 1 warrior the entire time ive leveled. Plenty of everything else thats available at my level though

I joined the PhoenixRaising guild today, they claimed to be the currently top guild on the server or something, which is really nice since I just joined because they had the word Phoenix in the name.
They have a town which is nice since you can get in and out for free and I don't think you have to pay taxes if you are in the guild(which is good since they had it at 100% when I joined, I think that might change since they need over 2k gold now though for level 4 guild).
They don't have all the merchants though(on purpose apparently, they suggest going to an allied guilds town if you want to buy weapons), but being able to do all my mining/gather(missing the summoning, assuming guilds can even get that) there is nice.

Personally, I haven't really had any problems with getting a party for the dungeons yet(though I did end up soloing though 90% of Thesos channel before getting a group), it may not go perfectly, but dieing doesn't seem to be a big deal so far. I will admit finding a tank can be troublesome, but for the last 2 dungeons I did my tiger pet has worked out just fine(though I'm only level 24 so I imagine they will only get worse from here on, more so once I hit the 5 mans).

I got way too many random invites to PhoenixRising early on, haha. The few people I've spoke to in there seem like cool peeps though. I pretty much just joined this dotHack guild since Bart and his friend were in there, the latter of which asked me if I wanted to join. I'd rather take an invite from him than accept one of the numerous annoying "SO AND SO INVITED YOU TO X GUILD" pop ups without so much as a hello. Also patch notes for anyone who doesn't read the official forums (and God help you if you do):

Tried this out, and so far I like it. How do people here play though? I found using keyboard and mouse together the easiest way, but I dunno if there's any other way to play.

Job system is nice, though a little annoying how easy it can be to cap your jobs when your actual level goes up so slowly. I wish equipment (weapons and such) would get saved along with your armour and skills. Pathfinding and the map system is great, though it kinda makes some quests really trivial and boring when you can just click [go] to find an objective. UI is nice but some parts are overwhelming with the amount of info they present, and the inventory system is a little annoying at times.

But still having fun, just trying to figure better ways to target people.

Can Hunter pets tank any good? I'm like level 11ish. If it's anything like Wow they should manage semi decently with a healer at the very least.

If its aoe i dont think hunter can tank very well. i kept up okay healing a hunter and magician through the lvl 18 dungeon, but the final boss is two guys. I pull hate by healing.. but maybe the hunter was just a baddie and couldn't comprehend attacking both.

I actually just did that dungeon yesterday with my tiger tanking(well me and tiger, tiger would hold one while the rest of us smacked down the frog), took three tries(first time my tiger disappeared, even though he still had health left and second one we got fucked by an aoe stun), but on the third one I decided to actually use positioning so everyone(was with a cleric and the mage who gave me the guild invite) could do what they needed to do without getting aoe'd.

Hmm that's kind of lame. I know the pet doesn't have commands like it does in Wow, at least not at my level. I can just order it to attack with a skill pretty much. If you want to give it a whirl regardless you can add me. My char name is Pantalai
