I was thinking about the original .//hack anime. Did Tsubasa (I think that's his(her) name). ever get a happy ending? I don't remember what happened to her at the end and if she appeared in any of the other series or talked about at all. All I remember is that Sora gets shafted in just about every series connected to the original.

Either way it's the same really. Tsukasa is the one on top, and is really a girl. She had been in a coma for the entire series and manages to wake up in the end. Subaru is the girl and manages to find Tsukasa in the real world after she comes out of her coma. That is if not the very last scene of the series then damn close to it. They end up living together in one of the later installments.

They're better than the first series, but still suffer from some repetitiveness. It's 3 game though, not 4 this time so I think it's not too bad. In general, I liked GU a lot because of the story and cutscenes

Yeah, G.U. is worth the playthrough. Watch Roots > play G.U. > watch G.U. Returner OVA.

GU is very worth it. I enjoyed the living hell out of it even with it being repetitive in some aspects but it was a lot less so than the original four games. Also, what Xanthe said.

GU was pretty fun. I actually enjoyed the fighting gameplay in it. I gave up on the 4th original .hack game because collecting all those (I don't even remember what they're called) keys to unlock the new gates was a major pain in the ass to me. But I had finished all 3 leading up to it.
