To my understanding, .hack//SIGN is first followed by Liminality(the disks that came with the original four games), then the one episode OVA called "Unison" which featured characters from both SIGN and the original four games. From there you head to .hack//DUSK (legend of twilight's braclet) which is chibi weirdness and onto .hack//ROOTS which leads you into the //GU series of games featuring Haseo. The //GU: Trilogy OVA would be next which pretty much covers what happens to Haseo from the end of roots up through the //GU games themselves. Last but not least should be the newest .hack OVA, Quantum which we were talking about on the last page.
I may be off in one place in terms of timeline, but that's how I remember it playing out. Most of it is completely worth the watch 'cept for DUSK in my opinion, since I just can't bring myself to love the chibi shit.
There is a new .hack movie coming out, anyone know where that falls?
I liked DuskThat big-boobied wolf chick and Balmung were badass.
haha. I don't know I just couldn't bring myself to really get into the show ; ;.
Also, on a non-.hack related note for once, I was wondering about opinions on Deadman Wonderland. I ran across the OP today and liked it/the song so wanted to see if it was worth me picking up.
EDIT:
Read up a bit, Sil: The new movie takes place in the World R2 supposedly which would put it during or after //GU. Also, sounds like a PS3 short-game will be attached with the movie blu-ray purchase. If it does well, this might lead to a new .hack series game on the PS3. Has potential.
Ah, I didn't watch anything past the first few eps of Roots which I couldn't get into back when it aired, might try again after another rewatch of SIGN though. Still looking forward to watching the movie when it comes out, seems like it'll be good.
The benefit of //roots was pretty much that it explained Haseo's motivation a lot clearer for the events that go down in //G.U. and also who Pi and Yatta used to be, etc. I'm excited to see how the new movie goes and already had a laugh over the three characters playing Kite, Balmung and Orca clones in yet another series.
Oh, and new trailer(well, maybe not new to everyone else but I'm late on this, I think -_-).
I liked Deadman Wonderland a lot. It's one of those things that I really want to see a second season for.
hay guys official madokashit dub http://madokamagicausa.com/product-combo1.php
English dub actually makes me angry.
Can't wait to see the naruto headband wearing land whales freak out when Mami dies and the anime does a 180, though.
Holy shit Madoka is more annoying in English. Dub is bad, and I'm not saying that because I hate all dubs without trying but it just seems like there's no effort.
Hopefully the producers of the dub know what they're getting into. I'd love to see another Narutaru fiasco.
A lot of them try to use a 'girly' voice and not a more serious one, like so, and fuck it up.
sometimes I wonder if the ppl who make dubs even like anime.
I know nothing about the series above except what I just watched and
What the FUCK is up with video #2?
WHAT HAPPENS? Someone spoiler it for me, please.
Spoiler: show
I sometimes wonder why they don't just follow a cue from their japanese counterpart, I mean when Saito Chiwa of all seiyuu is using her serious voice, the series is gonna be srs bsnss.A lot of them try to use a 'girly' voice and not a more serious one, like so, and fuck it up.
Spoiler: show
Thanks. I was losing my head over that vid.
BA DUM TSH.
It's just a bite of reality the show needed
Madoka dub is horrible. Only thing I can vouch for is that all the chars (except Madoka, sadly) have similar voice tones to the JP ones. Too bad the script seems awful and Madoka's voice makes me want to shoot myself.
It's always the lead characters, for some reason, who have the absolute worst voice actors for the part. I think anime voice acting in the states involves a lot of seniority play though, ie Vic Mignona or Monical Rial is more likely to get a part than Random Auditioner #52083 simply because of fame and experience, even if their voice isn't as good a match. I could be wrong, but that's really what it seems like to me.
to be fair, they actually have shit like seiyuu school in japan too.
But still, as long as the choice is between either theater reject or a theater reject that's been shitting around longer, it's kinda hopeless to even expect anything decent.
