Figured this would be the best place to post my question since it's sort of random.

Does your PC specs have anything to do with whether or not you can view 10bit? My PC is sort of meh and I wasn't sure if it was just a lack of updates or my PC entirely.

If your PC's shit, HD video can make it chug. Was beginning to be an issue on my old PC since subbers were starting to jump around that time. If it's an issue for you, try to find 480p uploads over 720p/HD. Plus you'll need the proper codecs.

So, I recently bought FMP S1 and TSR for Blu-ray. I'm currently on TSR and damn does it look awesome in 1080p. This is my second time watching this season(first time when it first came out) and I'm just curious what all the hate for it is about. I remember enjoying it back then and I'm enjoying it now. The only thing I can think of is that it's a bit more serious and action-y, and there's less Chidori+Sousuke moments, but it's still very entertaining. I dunno. Maybe it's just me. Also, did I mention it looks awesome in 1080p? Lol

Just watched Summer Wars because some people here recommended it, and I loved it. It was the right blend of slice of life and wtf computer stuff.

Summer Wars is amazing, I absolutely loved all the characters and the way things unfolded. It had the right amount of everything and the animation (especially the stuff in Oz) was simply stunning. I've watched it a couple of times already and I never regret it.

Recently finished Vision of Escaflowne, and I thought it was pretty good even though Hitomi got really annoying as a character (which is a shame cause she started off so good). The plot devices and story were pretty fucking stupid at the end of the day though. Absolutely fortune zones and intensified luck soldiers? Lol, what the shit is that? Generally I don't like stories that revolve around fate and destiny, and this didn't really change my mind, but I don't regret watching it.

Next up is RahXephon. Hopefully this fairs a little better. On the plus side, I know the music is fucking awesome having listened to the OST already.

Yeah I can see myself watching it multiple times, it's one of the movies I'll show to friends who don't know anything about anime.

I really liked RahXephon, it isn't Evengelion level wtf mindfuck, but it was a pretty solid mecha show.

Just finished Aria. I have to admit it was a nice change of pace compared to the standard anime, but I felt like every episode was too damn happy, as if they are impervious to getting angry or having misfortunes happen. I'm not sure I could watch 54 episodes with an episodic style to the anime. Still love that ED though, and the episode with President Aria almost made me tear up at the first half.

Guess I'll watch Escaflowne next.

Rahxephon is really almost like a retelling of Evangelion with less extreme character personality and better music. It kinda pisses me off the BD release wasn't HD though, dunno why they even did it if it's just sharpening the image...which didn't seem that much better than what I remembered, I guess Japanese consumerism is that much of a force

Just watched Sword of the Stranger, which I apparently missed several years ago. Pretty good Samurai action movie. More realistic action, no super over the top impossible moves, plenty of limbs getting cut off.

Any sites that list anime by the season/year? I probably missed some other good stuff when all I did was ffxi/work.
