It made me question if whether this was just a clip or actually from an anime. And it turns out that it is! The clip alone has won me over. I've never heard of this anime, but I'm 100% going to go check it out. 12 episodes, aired in 2012.

If anyone watched this when it aired, input/opinions would be lovely.

Its a little slow paced. Its not something of a comedy but more of an abstract look of humanity, social structures, and psychological themes that normal anime's usually don't touch on. You really never find out who Watashi is nor what REALLY happened to humanity. I wish it went another 12 to let the story run its course but this style never really sells BDs.

I watched the first episode. It was actually pretty dull up until that bread segment. I might try a second episode but it didn't really catch my attention lol

Speaking of first episodes, heard good things about Kara no Kyoukai so decided to randomly check it out lastnight. First movie was absolute shit, is it even worth continuing or am I in for more of the same? I'm usually all for giving shows/series at least 3-5 episodes before I write them off completely but damn it did not leave a good impression.

If you like Nasu stuff in general, you'll like it. If not, you won't. It's basically the rough draft of Tsukihime.

First movie was one of the weaker ones, though, iirc.

Kara no Kyoukai is great if you give it a chance. Beautiful music, art, animation and a really interesting story. Some movies are better than others (personal favourite is the 5th) but honestly if you didn't like the first movie I doubt you'll like the rest.

Kai Bond though, just finished the third episode of Samurai Flamenco and it's really fun. Digging this a lot. Also loving that ending song.

Just got to the big reveal at episode 7. Holy shit, hahaha. This is so ridiculous I love it!

Edit: 11 episodes in. Shit gets more and more ridiculous. Still thoroughly entertained.

I think I like the Manga more, but the show wasn't too bad.

Does anyone keep up with/watch most of the Pokemon series?

I dropped out kinda after the Johto league (seasons 3/4?). So there's about 11 seasons and more currently.

What I was wondering if the animation quality for battles in the recent/current is on par with what's seen in Pokemon Origins? Or are we still stuck with "made for kids" crap where contact/pain between Pokemon is hardly seen. I appreciate Origins is an OVA so it has much better production quality.

The type of scenes I'm describing on old episodes would be something like, a command is given, the mon performs it, and then the screen then switches to the receiving mon getting hurt by it. Some scenes are exempt from this (Charizard vs Magmar comes to mind) but for most part anything deemed too violent/painful is usually handwaved with this style.
