Ohhh +1 on Redline. Great racing flick. While we're at it, Initial D is great too.

Tenchi Muyo, Gokudo Kun Manyuki and Hajime no Ippo if you're into Boxing are ones I'd also recommend, Gokudo Kun Manyuki is along the same lines as Slayers
Going through my MAL, here are some more around that era (or older) that I didn't see mentioned that you might want to add to your collection:
Baccano
Bakemonogatari (if you haven't already gone through the whole monogatari stuff)
Code Geass
Darker than Black
Durarara
Full Metal Panic
Gurren Lagann
OG Hunter x Hunter
InuYasha
Kimi ni Todoke
Outlaw Star
Samurai Champloo
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Yu Yu Hakusho
thanks for all the suggestions, grabbed a bunch of the ones I didn't have.
also, irony of MAPPA animating it aside, first episode of Zenshu seems like it could be good, depending on how tropey it is
These lists make me realize Log Horizon never finished it's manga run which means the anime never will either. Damn shame, thought that was a great entry in the MMORPG anime trope

FMP is a must. If you can find a episode order of the first season of FMP then Fumofu might work out, sadly it was never finished :/
Always felt Log Horizon was dreadfully lacking something or focused a bit too much on the wrong things, but that's probably something tainted by my own MMO experience. The anime genre has its issues where sometimes you have to wonder if the authors actually played said games or if there was some kind of executive oversight that neutered concepts because they wouldn't be fun for viewers or something.
That said, kinda hoping Shangrila Frontier usurps most's opinion on best MMO anime. Recency bias aside, it's probably closer to how I'd make a game even if some of the humor is a bit too camp or just SCREAM AT THE VIEWER FOR EMPHASIS.
I could never shake the idea in my head that Log Horizon was just bootleg .Hack.
I watched the first episode of Shangrila Frontier.
Straight up laughed at him decking the elf girl.
Then getting the explanation as to why later.
Not exactly anime, but still.

WUT
I loved the NES game as a kid, heck yeah
They’re so bad. They got more fur than any turtle ever had.
They’re stronger than old cheese.
Would someone PLEASE cue that bird?
Umm Edge of Tomorrow?
I kind of want to know how they aren't being sued over that because the trailer feels like it's literally ripped right out of the movie.
Because they are both adaptations of the same source material lol. I guess the renaming of the movie for american audiences did a better job of distancing it than I thought, I felt like it was common knowledge at the time but perhaps not.
