Toonami got Tokyo Revengers recently. I have heard of it but never watched it. I am not into it so far. Feels boring. Is it worth sticking with?

I remember the anime being a lot of fun for where it ended at the time. I went to read the manga afterwards though and it never really reaches that height again. The story just gets ridiculously repetitive afterwards. I ended up dropping it at what I assume was the final arc.

Everything finally seems fine only for someone yet again ending up evil or dead. So the main character has to go back into the past again for the 4th or 5th(?) time. I lost all interest lol

watching Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time and 5 eps in itttt'sss fiiiinnneee. kinda crazy the one thing i've heard about this show over and over is 'Shinji is a bitch' 'Shinji is a crybaby' 'Shinji is so annoying'. like maybe it gets much worse but rn he's a 14 yo with an abusive/neglectful father, no mother, getting thrown into traumatizing life and death combat that he mans up for and goes into over and over again?? he pouts a lot and runs away for a sec but fuck off this kid is still one of the bravest 14 yos in existence he has the right to be a little fucked up

Shinji is at least honest about his cowardice in a world where half the population was wiped out, and is now under constant attacks from divine-like entities.

I feel like it's mostly because for a lot of the American audience their introduction to anime was through Toonami, and Gundam Wing was the first Gundam series shown there.

iirc the first three animes shown on Toonami were DBZ, Sailor Moon, and Gundam Wing
