Think I'm one of the few people who are of the opinon that Seed was basically all right. Not good not great just average. It pretty much gets the savage beatings because the bar was so set so high in 2001 that it can't compare to the 20 years of really great shows that had come before it. Destiny on the other hand really is complete and utter garbage and fully deserves all the shit it gets.

If we never got SEED Destiny I don't think it would be as hated. I like the last few episodes of SEED but the overuse of stock footage they go through in both series is ridiculous. I don't remember the episode but apparently the Strike Freedom becomes the Freedom for abit cause they were reusing frames. Some of the more memorable fights in that series are the ones where there isn't that much stock used, or none at all like Kira vs Athrun or Kira vs Andrew in the desert. If you're gonna have some questionable writing, don't just throw space battles in for the sake of space battles and reuse the scenes, it turns the viewer off when you aren't showing anything new. This happened alittle less near the end of SEED when all the final fights were happening which is why I enjoyed it. Flay is a bitch at times but she's a victim too, Mwu is awesome and Rau pretty much comes off as making sense in the end due to how fanatical both sides show themselves to be. I'd have to rewatch it again(which im not planning on, Victory episode 5 atm) but the first series isn't that bad. Although Kira Yamato is pretty much who Kio wants to grow up to be...

I'm pretty sure it was during the final fight in Destiny. And not only did they reuse Freedom footage, they also reused the Providence footage too, which just added to the /facepalm of it all.

I'm so wary of transforming kits. I honestly haven't built one at the MG level that I felt was worth it yet. Closest is Zeta 2.0 but I've never even transformed it and it all feels rather clunky.

Stability/cohesiveness is sacrificed to varying degrees accurately replicate the transformation mechansims of a transformable MS; the only solutions are to sacrifice that capability or to find ways to tighten that shit up (ye olde applications of Future, etc.). The latter has definitely worked well when it was needed. Ultimately they're going to feel different if you play around with them, as compared to their non-transformable brethren.

Ironically, I think the ReZel's use of the simple Methuss transformation mechanics makes it the most sturdy, both as a kit and in-universe too. Then again, it also benefits from being years removed from the initial wave of "modern" MG technology that came with the OYW Gundam and 2.0 Z MS; if you look on Dalong you'll notice that the leg-crotch locking connectors are beefier than the Zeta 2.0's. There's also a noticeable lack of ball-socket joints there, which contribute to undesirable feelings (clunkiness, etc.); instead it's largely hinge joints (themselves having locking positions in both modes). TL;DR: lessons learned on Bandai's part.

Curious to see what they will do for the Hyaku Shiki 2.0's color. They've gone a couple of different routes over the years, from obnoxious fuck-off gold to straight bright yellow to something that's almost green.. kinda hope they don't use the same type of gold you see on the Phenex, I find it ugly

The awakened (green psychoframe) MG Banshee Norn is scheduled for a May release. P-Bandai of course.

And the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 will be undergated (obviously); more importantly there's a preview image of the rapid prototype model with a leg transformed in the same manner as the Delta Gundam it's developed from (with what looks like some kind of frame piece missing that would otherwise inhibit this). That suggests that a MG Delta Gundam was planned for the future when they designed this.

Also there's a new 1/144 line, the Revive line of old HGs. Not a fan of their proportions; the Guncannon is really fucked up.

I have been wanting to build a Burning/God Gundam since I started because it is one of my favorites. Currently I'm looking at this:

Banshee is the 4th ever gundam I'm working on so I don't think I'll be able to justify getting something just for additional pieces anytime in the near future xD

Any of y'all done PGs, and if so, what do you recommend? I'm pretty interested in the Strike PG, but want to hear some opinions on others. Will have to veto the Unicorn, I just labored over the MG FA Unicorn and as much as I'm sure the PG is a godly kit, it also requires additional purchases with LED / FA set, etc. and I'm just not about that.

Just finished my first model RG Freedom and loved it. However im not really sure how good the High grade series is compared to the RG line. Alot of HG look really well built but some look just down right terrible, is it a case of just pot luck?
