If they hadn't had so many flags and had made it abrupt, it would have been a lot more impactful.

I read this before I watched the episode and still the moment Mika was a badass just floored me. Between the "who should I kill next? What should I destroy next?" pep-talk from last episode and his "fuck this shit" brutality from this episode...

Mika is just the worst. Far more worse than Heero Yuy. The fact that he's already a kid who can disregard the beauty and essence of life is one thing, but what him most dangerous is that he lives for Orga's ambitions
and the "promise" they made when they were young. Which means he instead sees himself not as human, but as a mere tool to be used. That's pretty crazy, and we've honestly never seen this type of protagonist in any Gundam show ever.

They did a good job making the kids look like war crazed and making the villains even more sympathetic. I have mixed feelings about this show in a good way, Mika is especially ruthless and always funny seeing him disregard everything and kill shit.

I agree. Morally the only characters you should really cheer for are characters like Kudelia and Atra lol. The show does a good job of walking that fine like of making you want to cheer for Tekkadon while tossing in glimpses and reminders that they are still all children and that war, death, morality and having a good conscience is still kind of new to them.

I could see and kind of really hope that this show has a really dark "nobody wins" kind of ending. At least the first season I can see ending on a reallllllly dark note while the second season has more of a redemption for their wrong-doings kind of theme. As is Gundam tradition.

I'm kinda expecting everyone on Earth to die at the end of this season and for season 2 to pick up with the crew still in space.
