In the Unicorn's case it's a hasty field option for maximum firepower - which is actually the first time a Gundam's FA add-on wasn't made back in a Federation/Anaheim factory (the Full Armor ZZ Gundam might be partially a field modification of the Anaheim-built add-on, if we take the FAZZ units from Sentinel into account). Either way, those small grenades are rocket-propelled and semi-guided no less (so they're really more like missiles).

Out of curiosity, do most people feel that Char's Counterattack made really no sense? I just rewatched it after watching Zeta for the first time and it really does not fit at all with Char's character growth at all. Well, maybe not "at all"- he did show some interest towards Cyber Newtypes in Zeta, something which was pointed out in Unicorn (I love that they threw that doctor from the Argama in). But he was pretty firm about the whole "don't pollute the Earth, try not to kill non-combatants" thing and in many ways, I found him to be the main hero throughout Zeta.

Running theory is that Char watched what happened in ZZ from the sidelines, what happened in Zeta (probably mainly what followed his speech at the Assembly in Dakar) and that combined with what happened to Kamille made him get nihillistic; he didn't really have much of a plan to follow up after bombarding the Earth with asteroids - at this point despite what he claims (as far as making all of humanity migrate to space), he's pretty much got nothing long-term. Or it can be the festering desire to have some kind of conclusion to his rivalry with Amuro; or some combination thereof.

Of course, there's also the fact that CCA getting greenlit and fucking with ZZ's plot (as well as the fact CCA is an adaption of the frequently overlooked and never-discussed MSG: High-Streamer serial novel) probably leads us to have to speculate as to the how and why of what seems like a drastic shift in his beliefs/attitude.

God, zeta was DARK. I think it took all of Char's good naturedness to do what he did then and by the end of it, he probably felt that it was all for naught.

Char was planned to make an appearance in ZZ but was changed once CCA was greenlit.

General thought is that CCA was written the way it was to rekindle a Amuro/Char rivalry for movies sake. It's really weird for Char to go through ALL that growth in Zeta, to the point where he doesn't give a shit about Amuro anymore, then just go "naw forget it". They tried to tie things together with things like this

but it's still a bad plot if you look at the OYW series as a whole. Char goes from wanting to protect and preserve the earth in Zeta to dropping rocks on it and attempting to drop Axis on it. If Glemy was really going to be Char in ZZ then that'd explain alot, like the loli clones.

Glemy has some connection to Gihren Zabi, either as a clone (dubious because of the fact Gihren isn't blonde..) or more likely as an illegitimate offspring through his secretary (only seen in the movie compilations); being blonde and pretty hot, she's the likely suspect (given her closeness to dear leader) and pretty much every source (including the Gihren Assassination Plot manga) strongly present the ("rumors") of her being his mistress as very much correct. That said, the physical similarities to Char are probably just circumstantial for Glemy.. at least accounting for his hair and eye color, in reference to Char.

But like IC said; Char was set to resurface in ZZ until CCA's greenlighting nixed that idea. At this point, we'd really have to see High-Streamer's early chapters translated/availible to have solid proof of the prevailing theory on why Char changed (his attitude becoming so negative towards the Earth-dwelling humans at any rate) from Zeta; something unlikely to happen anytime soon. We do have some clues based on what occurs from Zeta through ZZ, but is that enough to make him embrace fighting Amuro again and rekindling that conflict over Lalah, as well as accomplishing the goal of Zeonism (albeit in a rather bloody and ruthless manner unlike his previous efforts)? Debatable.

Tomino should have kept the idea of having Char narrate the introduction, sort of summarizing and helping to bridge the gap from Z-ZZ from his viewpoint; instead we only got rather brief flashbacks pertaining to Lalah (which makes it seem like she's the reason why he decided to be a nigga).

I didn't watch ZZ due to there being no dub, but I figured nothing horribly awful occurred since I read that it was more light-hearted than Zeta (it doesn't get much darker than having almost everyone die and the main character getting a psychic lobotomy).


Really I kinda wish they would just cleverly retcon the whole thing >_>

The lighter tone really only applies to the first handful of episodes (and it is a shame that Yazan became comic-relief, even if he returns to being a real nigga later in MSV-R); after the Shangri-La kids throw their lot in with the (in-shambles) AEUG, it pretty much distances itself from that (even at Moon-Moon, which is of a different tone... I guess). By the time Glemy has the Zabi flame in his heart fanned by the praise of the African Liberation Front's Blue Team, as the Earthside-arc wraps up, the series is pretty much where Zeta was.

Plus there's some beautiful MS, like the Doven-Wolf (or Dooben-Wolf, though they've again gone back to using Doven) and Bawoo (the Axis Zeon take on the Zeta). These MS will be appearing in the last episodes of Unicorn at some point.

MG Tallgeese II is a BH Shop exclusive. Only changes from Tallgeese I are the parts for the Gundam face, head crest, and Treize's (pilot) figure; middleman services (or GG Infinite) will probably be the best bet (and get on it quickly, so much rustling for wanted MS). If you wait for eBay/auctioneers, i'm sure it's going to turn into a race to see who can get fucked the least.

Unicorn Episode 6's ~10 minute preview video will be colony-dropped on us the week of February 3rd; probably in the middle of the week as usual. I guess the actual episode itself is 78 minutes in duration, unless retailers have this incorrect.

A Lombardia-class cruiser may be a part of the EFSF forces in Episode 6; this would be great considering the original (and at that time, only) Lombardia came rather late in Zeta.

So, an upgraded Sinanju or new MS for Full Frontal come Episode 7, capable of equaling the FA Unicorn. Battle for the ages, gentlemen.

Finally, this is different from the novels; Riddhe looks to actually be fighting the Tristars.

For those who prefer the TV series version of the Tallgeese, you'll need to probably need to hope (if Bandai doesn't) a third-party like Samuel Decal or something makes the yellow eagle decal for the shield; failing that, painting it yourself with some masking. The old 1/100 HG Tallgeese kit's shield for the I has the eagle molded into the shield itself; Anon on /m/ indicated they were virtually the same size, so it might be an option if you wish to trace it for the MG.

Also, contrary to what was initially thought, using the old 1/100 HG Tallgeese I/II/III kit to convert the MG Tallgeese I into either of the others is going to be complicated a bit due to the old kit's design (especially the head for the II, see below link). It is probably thus best, if you like the II to order the MG noted in one of my previous posts; even if it's 20-25 more expensive it'll certainly be less of a hassle than the alternative cannibalizing conversion. At least taking the II parts from the old kit will still leave you with a perfectly complete I/III if you need something to justify the additional expense the conversion option would place on you.

Christ, it took this long for that 15th Gundam Fight manga to progress to the point we get silhouettes of the four MC Gundams? If I remember right.. wasn't this manga's announcement made way the fuck back in 2010 when Unicorn Episode 1 dropped?

No, I mean like literally, it took this long for the manga to actually get underway? Holy fuck, almost three years? The author and illustrator isn't involved with Unicorn in any way, i'm pretty sure. That's one hell of a delay then; this is like the first news/images of the 15th Gundam Fight i've seen since the original announcement.

Sinanju (OVA) is a March release alongside the ReZEL [GR] with Defenser A/B packs.

-Comes with the Sinanju's Rocket Bazooka.
-Redesigned armor and internals to match the OVA design (back booster's thrusters, etc.). Also includes the backup eye sensors we saw when Daguza destroyed the main sensor in Ep. 3.
-New full-posability, sonic-welded hands (like on the Nu Gundam Ver. Ka. and Sinanju Stein). They'll be "rounded" to some degree to better fit the Zeon aesthetic.
-Changes to the main joints to alleviate the breakage issues; so basicly the arm-body joints and the waist (the problem areas if people did not do light sanding and fitting to ensure it wasn't retardedly tight).
-Less decals/markings, and a color change on the bare plastic.

Maybe they'll retry the Sleeves markings and flourishes too; if they were kind of annoying for an experienced modeller, it must be utter hell for anyone less so. Undergating those parts in gold plate or something, and just having us carefully mask and paint the black in would be a MUCH better approach this go around. Alternatively (and even better still, though also incredibly easy to break) is to make the gold decorations seperate parts, and fit them carefully in place.

The Origin, Vol. 3 up for pre-order. As it's a limited run, production is limited to pre-orders and (I guess) 500 additional copies. Amazon (in the US anyway, neither does Right Stuf) doesn't charge until it's shipped, if this is a concern. Vol. 1 looks to be a run of about 6,500; if you held off on pre-ordering for whatever reason, Barnes & Noble is supposed to have a relatively larger order than anyone else, but all told there's maybe afew hundred that will probably be available (and when those are gone, they're gone).

Also, OVA Sinanju's hands won't be compatible with the old Rocket Bazooka hand grip (can still sling it under the rifle or on the shield though.. or exchange the handle for the new one. lol).

Also, the ABS plastic of the MG Sinanju (OVA Version) is being changed to a formula that will allow for lacquer paints (which tended to attack the ABS of the old one). There's prototype pics out of the OVA Sinanju, but it's probably not worth posting here just yet; wait for the "finalized" prototype that has all of these changes actually implemented in the design.
