Making this a seperate post for purposes of simplicity.

Well, hapless guy is now at the controls of what amounts to a +2ed F99 Record Breaker: the EMS-TC02 Phantom Gundam.

At the moment, it's only armament is the beam rifle of the Galahad

and the Wings of Light.

"Flame Mode" (some kind of limiter release on the Minovsky Drive), it leads to Wings of Light, errywhere:

The green is ugly-as-fuck; but don't worry, it's been captured by Serpiente Tacon/Jupiter Republic Special Forces (which Tobia is head of apparently). So in all probablility, it's going to get a Crossbone Vanguard makeover or something. The fact it's an improved F99 also seems to implicate the Side 2 branch of SNRI (which, together with the EFSF forces from there going native, forms BESPA of the Zanscare Empire) as being behind these Thoucus Special Forces and their Jovian-style MS. I mean the connection was probably rather obvious with the Angel Halo being the first big hint (along with Tobia travelling to Side 3 from Jupiter, no less) that the remaining radical Jovians are very much involved with the Zanscare Empire. Plus that Newtype technology which has largely become something of a lost science in the Earth Sphere.

I wish Hasegawa was a better artist.. oh well.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny HD Remaster project will begin streaming on the Bandai Channel service on March 29 at 11:00 p.m. in Japan. The series will then start running on the BS11 satellite channel on April 7 and on the Tokyo MX TV channel on April 9.

Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN TV anime in 2014!

There's supposed to be a Gundam ACE announcement in February about The Origin; maybe they'll step ahead and just announce something definite before it's out. Seems like scans from the issue are already out early (at least I think they're from the February issue..); I didn't catch it on /m/, too much dumbfuckery today. If someone happened to get them, you know what to do.

In march's issue of Gundam ACE (will be in stores on saturday) they announced Origins to be a TV series for 2014 by Sunrise. Not 100% confirmed until the magazine is out.

So these resin 1/100s

are up for pre-order (directly from SMS). The SMS'd Byarlant Custom and Zaku III Custom will probably be around $80-95 USD (instead 140 and 200..) each though a retailer like HobbyFan or Tatsu Hobby. I'd probably bet on the MG Byarlant Custom being in-development though; the HGUC sold pretty well, so that was probably reassuring to Bandai (and let's not discount how popular Unicorn is either).

I really like that Zaku III; the SMS version will have parts for the standard Zaku III and the Mashymre Custom, plus the beam rifle (which was omitted from the original kit). I gathered from the sculptor's posting that it's frontal skirt beam sabers/beam guns are "removable" to a degree (you'll have to refrain from storing one or both in the skirt however, perhaps).

G's 1/100s and 1/144s are all back in production, as well as both of the 1/60s. Aside from these, the fact that the old 1/100 MSV kits like the Prototype Dom and Tropical Test Type are back in production (finally) is fantastic; i'll finally get to use their parts in converting the MG Dom into the Protoype and Tropical Test Type. They're also cheap enough to possibly make picking them up to practice on, should 1/144 be too small for you. The old (and terrible) 1/60 Gundam, and Zakus are also in there; it's probably not even worth getting them aside from a joke or for fun.

Also, the Dengeki Data Collections for various series will be going back into print sometime this summer.

On Friday, producer Masakazu Ogawa announced on the official Twitter account for Mobile Suit Gundam AGE that production on a new project featuring the characters Asemu Asuno and Zeheart Galette has "finally" been green-lit. Ogawa did not specify what kind of project it is, or even if it is anime.

In light of the announcement, designer Michinori Chiba drew a new sketch on a sheet with Japanese animation registration holes.

Ogawa had mused in September about a possible story focusing on the characters' days as students. In November 2012, Ogawa and Chiba released a rough sketch to the official Twitter account that was used to introduce the characters for a possible new project.

In the AGE anime, Asemu was the main character of the second generation with Zeheart as his antagonist. The television series premiered in October of 2011, and it ended on September 23, 2012, shortly before Ogawa mentioned the tentative plans.

Problem is, it's focusing on the worst part of Asemu's arc: high school. And given who went to high school with him? Nope.

Not getting any pirate antics, no love-child with best girl, nothing but fucking shitty slice-of-life with teenage melodrama with that awful, bland, useless AGE Wife #2 Romary, and that terrible failure Zehart.

Again, nope.

So is there any reason some people dislike G Gundam? Is it because it isn't not -too- serious? Or not real robot enough?

It's really a unique series in the meta-verse.

Because it's not like any other Gundam so people just want to hate on it. In that sense I can agree since it's Gundam only in name and cause everything has a V-fin due to that, however it's still very enjoyable to watch on it's own. But I don't think I would enjoy it any less if it was an original anime of it's own with no attachment to Gundam.
