Only thing I dislike about toothpicks is the risk of scratching the underlying paint and it turning into this OCD-ragefest about the imperfection being there; probably a bigger risk with acrylics (completely coming off or mixing with the wet paint to make this shitty mess) than enamels or lacquers (which would probably show a scratch).

Finished the HG Wing now and man you really can't pose it that well. Because of those damn talons on the arms where you can't bend it good enough.

Also maybe it's just me but I have bad luck with a MS's left leg. It's always feels loose compared to the right leg.

When you say leg, do you mean the peg-socket joint? If so, check that polycap - you may have stressed or deformed it, or worse possibly cut into it or something. Alternatively (going of the manual on Dalong) the hip peg or polycap (interior or the polycap peg that inserts into that funky leg assembly) might need to be given a coat of Future. The cap could be defective too (this has only happened on old, old kits though).

New color promotional images of the production MG Exia R2:
    Spoiler: show

Refer to the second image for the R2 differences as compared to the original Exia.

My biggest problem with the MG Exia is that the shieldsword thing (its biggest weapon) does not really want to stay on/drags the arm down hardcore. The weight balance is all effed up and MG hands continue to be infuriating and require adhesive to really function properly. Otherwise love the build though, definitely not enough to get a whole new model for just those minute changes.

To be honest, applying a coat (or two) of Future definitely tightens plastic-on-plastic joints like no fucking tomorrow and I would generally recommend anyone consider doing so if we're talking asymmetrical weight distribution of any substantal amount (on a right-left plane). I haven't really had any weight problems with the Exia and it's GN Sword weight as a result of doing this.

As for the hands of MGs, it's sorta hit-and-miss and comes as a consequence of posable hands and minimalizing parts (ideally we'd want a second pair of hands with double metal pins that we plug the grip of weaponry onto). You -can- do this now, but you'll have probably ruined the non-weapon weilding aesthetics of the hand (if you can tolerate two noticable holes in the palms or two brass/steel rods sticking out and very visibly retaining their natural metallic colors).

If you haven't gotten Gundam Breaker yet then I advise you to. So much fun.

Makes me wish that Heavyarms (EW ver) HG was real instead of just the MG.

I guess the Satellite Cannon reciever's panels are going to be of a similar kind of full-color spectrum reflective sticker as the HGAW was, under a clear panel. I hope this still means those hexagonal shapes are paintable - i'd like to spray on Alclad's spectral chrome. Would look better than a sticker I think while still preserving the light-reflecting properties.

I just finished a HG Aegis Gundam (got it cheap for 8 eur) last week and noticed the shoulder parts (the pink ones) don't stick well togather. Is that normal for HQ Aegis?

Also stand (sit?) firmly on a gunpla stand for HGs.

Looking at the manual on Dalong.net I think I know exactly what the cause of this issue is. I suspect you probably had some polycap flash (extraenous moulding material) left on the (let's call them "male" cylindrical portions of PC123 E in the below picture). This is actually a common problem for inexperienced modellers (at least in the Gunpla context); most people forget to inspect this stuff.

Carefully pry the upper arm and shoulder assembly apart, preferably with something flat and not sharp or pointy (if you didn't know about the connecting peg trimming technique this will be more difficult to do without breaking them); then assess the condition of your polycaps. I'd recommend cautiously removing any flash; you'll probably want to remove a little and then try inserting it into each side before rejoining the parts if you're satisfied.

Also stand (sit?) firmly on a gunpla stand for HGs.
Also regarding the Action Bases (I don't use them, so i'm not 100% on the following): they may or may not have an "older" kit adaptor (which was basically a glorified crotch area seat in a U-shape form I think), because these are actually a relatively mid-late last decade introduction (the HG Aegis is a 2002 vintage kit, so that's like 5 years prior). I think any of the other regulars here could probably help you more with the particulars of 1/144s, as i'm strictly a Master Grade guy.

Edit: I contacted Tatsu Hobby - TL;DR: Action Base #2s (clear or any color) should have no problems supporting all 1/144 scale Gunpla as long as you use the appropriate-sized included adapter. If you find it's too snug or something, just trim it via knife or cutting shears tool.

I thought you can still pay via credit card based on the notice e-mail they sent last month; it'll just be processed by fucking PayPal now.

What part(s) of your Sinanju Stein are you missing/are damaged beyond repair?

The cap part is fine and B 39/41 and C 26/27 fit fine. I use fine sand paper to remove excess plastic. My problem is with B 27/28 only. As for the stand, the part where it "sits" on, comes with the Aegis and is a little like an "U", like you said. Will try to put something (paper maybe) in there to have it fit better (it's falling off the stand easily right now).

    Thanks for the advices.

Episode 7 pre-release campaign begins at the end of the month (25-26th) with the first batch of MS set to appear in Ep. 7 to be announced on the official site. The Doven-Wolf is about the only sure thing; i'd bet on the Zssa, Ga-Zowmn, and probably Republic of Zeon Hizacks. Barzam(s) if we're lucky and Sturm Dias also possible I guess.

Preview at the end of January.

Next is a MG Unicorn Gundam Full Armor (Ver. Ka). Anything I should be carefull about when building it?

(What's the difference between its normal and Ka versions?)

Well, aside from being in for a long build process, don't force things into place.

Ver. Ka has different decals (and lots of them), and for some reason they didn't use the corrected OVA head piece that includes the vulcan guns (so you get the incorrect, old 2007 mould). They'll probably just milk it again with a Unicorn Full Armor (OVA Ver.) again this spring, placing the corrected mould of the OVA. Or if you're like me and have 7 MG Unicorns, just take it from the OVA.

Not that it matters anymore (as they will never again make the old Ver. Ka) but the old 2007 Unicorn Ver. Ka had more restricted range of motion in the knees (which was rectified on the OVA version, and all kits since then, including the FA and Banshee).
