WTB: PS2 FFXI HD

HI, I'm interested in getting a HDD to put into my PS2 so I can play FFXI on it for dual boxing purposes.
I don't need any game software, already have access to that, just need a working HDD.
I'm open to spending $30 for it plus whatever shipping would cost.

But seriously tho it would be a waste to sell only the HDD when I also have everything else and in great condition. I assume you'll also be wanting the utility disc for the hdd as well? I'll sleep on it. In the mean time send me your zip and I'll find out sometime tomorrow how much shipping will cost ya.

Yeah I know that's illegal lol. I've thought about it and am okay with $30. Don't think I'll ever get more than that.

Didn't you only need the utility disc to format the HD? I recalled that the PS2 would take standard 2.5" SATA drives. Unless that only applied to HDLoader purposes where you're bypassing PS2 security.

Yeah that's right the utility disc is only for formatting the HDD, but the catch is you can only format Sony's official HDD for FFXI use and w/e else there is. You can install any IDE HDD into the PS2 but you'll be running hdloader/hdadvance as mentioned. You can run either with Sony's HDD but not both concurrently.

That was then and I haven't kept up with the latest news, so I'm not sure if they've figured out the proprietary security Sony is known for.
