Maybe they're trying to find a reason to cancel the show? That would certainly do it.

My guess is that it's a lead-in to Louis finding out about Mike. Louis wouldn't be able to do anything about it, considering what he himself has already done.

Louis may not come back but he'll still be on the show. He'll probably go to work at another firm and have a big run in with PS or he'll move in with Sheila and work for Harvard and find out about Mike and use it as leverage to rejoin PS.

I was trying to look and see if there was anything about contracts with Rick Hoffman but I couldn't find anything. That's usually how I know if a character is going to come back to a show after hiatus.

I basically stopped watching this two seasons ago and I don't even know why I still follow the thread, but ... /shrug
