Shoveling, salting, driving, walking all of it is shit. It does not make up for it looking good. Also I don't think you are aware of what snow did to me this past christmas. I would not wish that shit on my worst enemy.

Regardless, spending my entire life up where it snows every winter, I simply could not live without it. I've met people who had never seen snow before and they were sad, miserable wretches!

Shoveling is annoying, sure. Driving, I can't say. Salting is just a facet of shoveling, imo, annoying but really sprinkling rock salt or whatever isn't horrendous. The only time I've ever cursed walking in snow is when I went out in dressy dress shoes and ruined them. That's my own damn fault though for being retarded and not the snow's.

Honestly ice is far more troublesome then snow.

Was coming back from md and was stuck at jamaica center, about a few miles from home. Lirr and buses were shut down. I would have walked it but I had luggage and christmas gifts on me. I was there for a near infinite amount of time. The hobos were also all at jamaica center, because the snow was chest high in some places.
Eyes watering and nose stinging, or stand outside and freeze to deah in a blizzard.
I could not get the hobo smell out of the clothes I wore that day. I ended up trashing those clothes. Including a nice blazer I had just bought.
We had to get out and push the charter bus the lirr ordered to get people to massapequa about 4 times. Details details.Either way I didn't get to a bed I knew till almost 40 hours after I left md.

The real answer is spring/fall, which both have reasonable temperatures, instead of -9000 in winter and +9000 in summer. Winter and summer both suck, but i'd say summer sucks more. As was mentioned before, it is easier to stay warm than it is to stay cool.

I mean that's a bum rap and all, but you can't tell me something like this happens every winter, yeah? Either way, a season will have freak accidents. See summer with ridiculous hurricanes and this spring's tornado fetish.

Not going to lie when I say it is every year. Winter before the last I spent a few thousand replacing my gutters and roof in md for getting damaged by the weight of snow. I can make a lost going back 5 or so years of how much winter has cost me.

I live right in between NYC/MD (closer to NYC during school) and while the last 2-3 winters have been particularly snow heavy, it's definitely not every winter we get four feet or something. I don't know how you have such radically different experiences in the 3rd best season.
