refurbished mytouch 4g - old phone died.

So I was told my phone was dead due to humidity issues it had. Also they knew my phone was rooted. To get a brand new phone it will cost 200+ bucks. The memory card is fine, the t-moble white card thingy is fine. Can I just look on the market for a new phone and put in my cards and just get it activated over the phone? My main concern is to spend less for a new phone since paying in full would hurt my bank account and need a phone atm really bad. Gf, work, recruiter bla bla.

I believe you should be able put your SIM card (the white one) into any T-Mobile phone and make calls through it without even having to "activate" it over the phone. My family and myself play phone roulette every time someone is due for an upgrade, and I've passed off multiple sets to my Mom and Sister by just swapping out the SIM cards. I also switch between a Galaxy S and my old G1 depending on my mood and never have any problems with it. Should probably get additional confirmation, but it's always worked in my case.

    Yeah, it does.

I used to have a Sidekick ID with T-Mobile and would swap the SIM between it and a clamshell phone for the camera.

Not alot of info. I emailed the dude with a list of questions. Condition of phone, what do I get with it if I buy etc. Highly interested in buying since my old phone craped out. Anyone see anything bad with this deal?
