I installed CoD Black Ops and every time I try to go online with the MP it gives me the error in the title.

Now, before you ask:

It is a bootleg copy of the game. Skidrow's version.

If this is the ONLY problem, I will buy the game, I just wanted a quick cheap way out, but I have money if that's the only problem.

But I want to make sure that's the only problem in case I do buy the game and get the same error.

I am behind a Linksys router and Arris Modem on Comcast around Jacksonville, FL.

I have plugged the PC into the modem for direct internet, so no router and still the problem persists.

I know that CoD:BO uses port 3074 (or so people say) and when I go ping it at whatsmyip.org it says Port Closed.

I have no idea what this all means.

I've turned off Windows Firewall and whatever else I could for Windows, too. (Who knows, maybe there is a missed setting somewhere?)

FFXI plays fine online, btw. Just throwing that out there, too.

Any possible solutions? I've tried google but it didn't help.

I was stated that it could be played online regardless, and that others had the same problem even with the bought copy. Was just making sure it had to do with the settings and not the game. I'll grab a copy and if problem persist, I'll be back.

You can play on cracked servers but I've never heard of anyone being able to get a pirated CoD to play in legit servers. You could try port forwarding 3074 but there's no way to know if it -should- work unless you have a legit copy.

Heard. I just ordered one from Amazon with gift card money anyway. If problem persists, I will be back and ask again, but hopefully it'll be fine.

If it makes you feel better, I get that message every now and then while on the PS3. I click "ok" and shit goes back to normal. Game is retarded like that.
