Gotta say I'm disappointed with the Canucks moves today. I'm not sold on Sturm and still think we need 2nd line help in case he, Higgins, Samuellson or whoever is on the wing on that line falls off a cliff production wise. We have 5 mil in cap space left but haven't included Tanev, Hodgson or much in the ways of size or grit in the cap space. Really hoping they give Hodgson a chance this year to do something on the second line.
Say it ain't so.....Talbot in a Flyers jersey? Fuck that.
Jagr, on the other hand, never plays defense anyways, so have fun with him. He just doesn't fit into our play style.
I think Sturm is more for the 3rd line and a fix for Mason until he returns. To me Sturm is like Pavol Demitra. Difference is Sturm is only for a 1 year contract. The bigger question is why Chris Higgins got resigned. If he's the answer to the 2nd line question, i don't see why we'd resign him. Unless they want to give him a full season and his price is fair considering the prices that have gone for 2nd line players.
Vastly disappointed/relieved that nothing happened while I was gone!
Also not to be smug but.
Johan Franzen's cap hit is more than 500k less than Ville Leino's. Not to say I wouldn't like Leino back, but 3.5 is probably closer to his real value.
Blackhawks get Carbombed.
wait, he's only 26.
Tanner Glass goes to Winnipeg. Glad he found a new home. You've got a decent bottom six player there Bluefan. Nice guy too.
Edit: Canucks sign Andrew Ebbett. Um ok.
and with one signing, Bowman totally undoes all the positive juju gained from getting out from under the Campbell contract. The only viable excuse for signing Carcillo is shoving him in Rockford just to ensure he doesn't play in the NHL.
Nah, Chicago wanted a rat-looking motherfucker and Marchand isn't available.
I'd like to think they'll have Carcillo ride on top of Scott like a polo player and then swing at players heads like a polo ball.
I guess at the very least if he hits Jeff Carter again it won't be completely retarded of him to do so this time.
Soooooo this is the big name player Gillis signed today.

Bergenheim's four-year deal is worth $2.75M per season, as per to the Panthers.
Jesus fuck, I guess the Panthers could be a playoff team.
Funny how they're throwing money around, yet haven't locked up Vokoun
And Handzues to the Sharks, good player but totally looked slow last year. 5 mil for 2 years. Im guessing he will anchor your 3rd line.
