Reading about the clusterfuck that is the NFL lockout right now makes me pray to god that the NHL doesn't fuck this up and gets a deal done before shit gets out of hand.

At this point I dont see a lock out really happening. Players are making money, owners are making money. Tv Ratings are going up.

Only thing I can see maybe being a hold up are these long term deals that UFAs are getting that are adding bogus years at the end to lower the cap hit.

I could see there being a back and forth about the cap floor too, considering how high it's gotten. I'd imagine they'd go for a % of the ceiling instead of the set 16 million they currently have. Players might also want to relax pick compensation for RFA offer sheets too, considering how rare it is. Revenue sharing should be a big issue too, especially with the Canadian dollar strengthening making it harder for small US franchises to make profit in the face of a quickly rising cap.
