I'm talking about day1, mostly. In the long run, everyone will use their highest job to farm gear for their lowest.

Why would you use high level job when you can get experience on your lowest level class. And if gears matter as much as it used to, I would much prefer the xp over the gears.

There'll still be plenty of level 25-only parties forming up, because not many level 50 people want to just grind through low level content for no reason other than helping someone else.

Assume any non-level cap content is for PS3 players when they try to reboot the game, or the tens of thousands of players that quit between level 20 and 40 that might come back if there was something to do.

I'm personally waiting until PS3 release until trying this game and having raid type content for lower level characters is a great idea.

Gives you something to do between the grind.

This is the correct mindset. They need to release like another 3 dungeons at various levels along with 2 real raids at end game for PS3 release. Then the game will be on good footing.

I still think the UI needs work. Presentation is very important imo. To be able to drag/drop, point and click etc is super important and needs to be added sooner than later.

No one can argue with you on that. While we're at it the intro/tutorial quests need to be completely remade and better integrated into the missions/leve system.

Unrelated, but is there a single good wiki anywhere out there for this game? One with a good list of quests, abilities, recipes, nms, etc? I'm having a hell of a time locating info for things.

There's no point in discussing it further, if you dont like the idea of level cap, then it's good news there won't be any.

Lodestone forums are crazy. Too many people not even discussing the game but fighting between each other 'calling each other names'. They need to crack down on people that post with 'nothing' about the original topic. It's like OP, two responses OT, someone nerd rages, derail as people bash the nerd rager, insert one OT post as someone tries to recover the derail, another slew of bashing, possible comeback OT; number of pages: 26; Time elapsed: 3 hours. Too bad 50% of all the threads started are just QQ posts, not to mention 80% of all the QQ'ers don't even have a rank 30. What a shit storm.

Still kinda don't get the pace of 1-20. All gear pre 10 is totally worthless and any 'content' added pre 20 won't really be used since you level so fast. Slowing the ranks down and adding some content along the way would go a long way in making new players feel some sort of 'accomplishment'. Regardless, adding another 2 rank 25~ dungeons would go a long way for new players as well.

Mainly responding to alkar on his great points. Everything said here is opinion the fact you compare ffxi to shitty games like rift aion and any other mmo other then WOW is rediculous. ffxi has been successful for 9-10 years and was so successful and still for the most part still carrying on keeping ffxiv free to play and afloat. Just because you like WOW and somebody prefers ffxi don't bash there points like we have so many subscribers so yea i must be right.

You say ffxi raiding sucked which i hate the terms used now because ffxi players never even called it that was great and endgame had 100% more variety than WOW. We had Dynamis,Limbus,Salvage,Nyzul Isle, Einherjar,NMs,ENMs,Bcnms,Sky,Sea,Assault Missions,HNMs your crazy if you really sit here and believe that WOW endgame has variety when most of you people talking weren't good enough or ever got to experience all of that. In WOW you raid thats it you say everything in final fantasy had no objectives other then blow through and kill stuff what was the 50 assault missions, limbus missons, Nyzul Isle did they not make you think or use several different strategies.

In Final fantasy the story telling was better and the act of working together to do anything in that game from leveling up to going out and gathering materials you need a team or friends to play with WOW i fucking soloed to 85 then was expected to raid all day until i ran out of dungeons and gear to get on a character i can't change jobs on unless i go solo to 85 again and complete the same damn quests again over and over just a different area when i level up but yes WOW is so much better then any other mmo because we have so many subcribers

I enjoyed parts of WOW im not even saying its a bad game it just didnt compare to ffxi to me which im sure for saying that ill be flamed and called an idiot but lucavi i believe who said it if the only mmo you ever played was ffxi you have no room to speak you can STFU guess what game your flaming about now fucking FINAL FANTASY 14 WOW is a more casual game when after 4-5 years it was impossible to play final fantasy 11 because of how hard it was if you didnt have a set group of people to help you it didnt hold your hand through every fucking thing in the game. Even people that play WOW who played since release say WOW now is to easy and too many casual fucks changed it to what it is now.

You can read this and flame me but if your gonna talk about something let it be about what you would like to see and keep in mind its your opinion just because you play WOW doesn't mean you know what a good mmo is ffxi was and is still one of the best mmos ever made and if ffxiv is going in that direction last time i looked this is SE and final fantasy's mmo not some blizzard clone like rift if WOW is so great then why aren't you people still playing it last time i looked it still has its 10mil plus subscribers why are you even playing a final fantasy mmo

Edit: to make this last point im not even saying i want this to be like final fantasy 11 if i did i would just go back and play that but its almost been a year we all know on release they screwed this game up and are rebuiling before we bitch and complain about everything lets at least see what happens with the raids and dungeons before we sit here wishing it was like this or that everybody knows this is a unfinished mmo that doesn't even have solid footing except all the idiots that post on blue garter that for some reason can't understand that and would rather complain all day of how WOW and its little pet dog Rift are doing

Wow, umm well. FFXI is shit now, so don't go back to that expecting a good game. I do agree with mr. spelling on one point. At one time FFXI was awesome in terms of the feeling you got from the world as well as the teamwork required to do anything. It was perhaps a little too hardcore about that on the leveling side, but that's OK it was 2003-2000 whenever level sync came out.

This argument is something to behold for sure, I'm often embarrassed to be part of the mmo community. Some of you guys are about as bad as the douches in politics.
