work on the passion. passion > depression. 100% on the weed recommendation regardless. low to mid grade sativa, pref mid.

find a fitness sport or hobby that fits into your lifestyle that gets you up and moving. think lifestyle here though, not random shit. something you would be interested in doing long term (ex. scuba, backpacking, skydiving, basic sports, advanced sports...lots of options_

eat more fruits/veggies/lean meats and drop as much junk (bleached bread, shit in bags & boxes) & caffeine as you can

get the passion back. if you don't have an art, learn an art.
    also sex helps.

edit: im not a doctor but i'm on the other side and it is glorious

I agree with Koolaid on this. I currently take Celexa as well. I don't do it for depression however, it is for anger management. I used to try to calm myself down with gym activities (without celexa), using the anger to run my ass off or put an extra 20lbs on the barbell. After completing the workout though, i would feel great for maybe 45-hour then something would remind me as to why I was angry in the first place. I use the medication to avoid from dwelling on those things that make me agree. And it works.

One thing that doctor did suggest though is that exercise does enhance the effect of the celexa. If you feel it doesn't work you, try hitting the gym while still on celexa.

PS: I stared at elison's avatar for a good 30mins. Glad I still have some sex drive even on anti-depressants.

Thanks for advice everyone, I think I'll try just about everything in here minus the weed. It enhances my anxiety, which sucks cause I used to love it.

There are also warning against using st john's wort on the prescription decription(the one we all usually throw away)

Haha, I actually read those frequently. Find them interesting. I've only really ever heard bad things about St. John's Wort, so.

I was on Zoloft a couple of years ago. While it certainly helped with the depression, as others have mentioned there are some severe sexual side-effects associated with it. Decreased sex drive is the most common. There are other unwelcome effects too.

Valium. You'll still be depressed, but you won't care.

Effexor was my last anti-depressant. I was on it for 3.5~ years for manic depression and anxiety.

Effexor helped manage the mood swings, and to some extent, the anxiety. They did the opposite of what you're looking for though, they leveled me out below "normal". Everything was a manageable dull, and I was happy living with a somber mood. To me, they're not for someone who wants motivation.

I experienced all the side effects, and after being off of them for a year, I still feel the long term effects. It took me a month for my system to function normally without it. Effexor's side effects are infamous, second only to Paxil. I advise going to a therapist and questioning them on anything they recommend. I didn't ask questions about my medication and I'm still dealing with some of the long term effects.

    Same.
I tried prozac but that just made me sociophobic. Upped the zoloft-dosage to 100mg instead and its working extremely well.

You probably should speak to a psychiatrist about this, as opposed to a family doctor. Your primary care physician won't have as much experience dealing side side effects, and the best way to find what works for you. Most of the work a psychiatrist does is altering and adjusting medication to find the right balance for you.

Okay so update... I started my citalopram cycle up again, or at least tried. Took the first one today and my body reacted violently. Threw up several times, and can't stop grinding my teeth. I was thinking it should have been a lower dose, but. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Talk to your doctor, a lot of antidepressants can have very "speedy" effects (as in you feel like you did some meth) the first couple days on them.

Also, keep in mind that you should never take anyone else's statements on experiences with them as "fact," not that people are lying to you but the effects can be massively different between 2 people.

how long has it been since you had citalopram? I always understood it as you have to start very small first not just dive into it. When I started citalopram, I took half doses (5mg) for the first week, then took the full pill (10mg) the following week.

I've been on Xolotl for about half a year now and I've had next to no Bandomusha Kote. It took a little tweaking to get the strat right, but now that it is correct (75nin rdm brd daily) I've felt fantastic. I've gone a week or so without claiming by accident and still felt quite nice, just a few down spots, but as a whole it's done my mnk a lot of good.
