A brand new scan from V-Jump has been released courtesy of SSK. Much of it we’ve seen in past scans or images, but it does feature a new screenshot with the First Hokage taking on the Second Hokage right in the center of the page. Not only that, it pictorially lists the 12 confirmed playable characters so far. What’s more interesting than that? There is a big number 70 right below the character pictures! We at Saiyan Island are guessing that means Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations will have 70 (or more) playable characters!!! YOSH!

70 characters? Damn, I'll be legitimately amazed if they can pull that off without 80% of the roster being useless or repetitive. Granted, it's pretty easy to avoid the pitfalls of clones given the source material, but that's still a lot of characters no matter how you slice it.

Shouldn't be that hard if they just recycle all of the characters from UNS1 & 2, which looks like what they're doing.

I'm actually kind of disappointed they're doing that, cause that means their focus is to add as many characters as possible instead of focusing on making characters deeper/adding more moves/giving various characters special properties so you have a reason not to play naruto/itachi/deidara, etc.

Famitsu has a small update on Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. CyberConnect2′s fighting game will have over 70 characters to choose from. 

Players will be able to select characters from Naruto’s youth and Shippuden characters. Ay the Fourth Raikage, Mei Terumi the Fifth Mizukage, Onoki the Third Tsuchikage, and Minato the fourth Hokage. Young Kakashi and Obito are also confirmed for the roster. 

The game’s story will cover part one and part two all the way up to the current arc. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generationswill have over 60 minutes of anime scenes created by Studio Pierrot. Namco Bandai have Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generationsslated for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Q1 2012.

CyberConnect2 made a few modifications to the Storm battle system for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. Jump revealed you can cancel the chakra dash into a combo or a ninjutsu move.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations has three meters (well, five if you count the partner recharge meters) to watch now. An evasion meter is underneath the chakra gauge. This lets players know how many times they can use the replacement technique, a defensive maneuver that lets players escape an attack and appear behind their opponent.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations has two online modes. Rival battle is the standard versus mode you would expect with one on one fights and online rankings.

New for Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is tournament mode, which lets a host set up a battle tournament for multiple players. Tournament mode can be played either online or offline.
