Remove old synchronisation between XP and 2k3

Have a mini problem here and for the life of me can't find the options to do it

We have a domain ex local.local ruled with AD and Group policy on W2K3 R2

We also have folder redirections for each user Desktop and Documents to the serveur let's call it server1

Latly we had to remove server 1 and we created server 2 which is now the AD and we moved every folder to server2, including our Folder Redirection setting in the AD.

But now every user keeps getting in WinXP the message. You are working Offline, the connection to server1 is unavailable.

This warning has no effect since server1 is down for good, but I wanna know where in the Group Policy I can hide that warning for good without killing the folder redirection to server2

(It's the synchronisation App in Windows XP that gives me the error.)

I could delete it manually on each PC but we have like 60 PC so I would to know If I can do it on the Group Policy to save time hehe.é

    Thanks

    You just want this?

\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files\Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature

No they need to keep using the offline because their files are store on another server

I just want that the Synchronisation forgets about the old server that has been removed

if it's not GPO pushing down the problem then i can't think of an easy way to fix this without going to each machine. checking the reg key

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\netcache\shares

and deleting any values with the old server listed might fix the problem. but that's a might. i try to avoid synchronization on our network.

also may help or may not be what you need: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230738

(if you are worried about deleting local files on each workstation copy them to another folder first, i realize this isn't the easy way you were hoping for)

i'm interested to see if someone else has a smoother solution

Another idea would be to use the Client-Side Caching Command-Line Options command-line tool. It it will reconfigure your sync location. Check out this:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/14...-server-remove

    csccmd /moveshare:\\oldpath\oldsharename \\newpath\newsharename

Can you run a login script or something? You could automate this

    Doesn't work

I deleted the key and the subkeys referin to server 1 then rebooted the PC

The keys are back in, so there must be somewhere an instance of that in the GPO or somewhere

My problem is that my files are already moved

Exemple when a user closes his session you see the synchronise bar

It says server1\home : Error the server doesn<t exist
    server2\home : Synchronisation complete

Or I might not understood that post too it<s possible
