It's never about points given up or yards. It's about potential for return TDs and turnovers / sacks

While return TDS and turnovers make up a large margin, you obviously don't want to play any defense against a star offense. If you want to go by turnovers, Eli has thrown 4 more ints than Ponder and 5 more than Moore, but Eli has been playing all season.
