I feel pretty good about it but could I get a review of my team from people? It's a rushing-heavy league -- we get 4 points for passing TDs and 6 for rushing TDs, and I think half a point for every catch. Can get into other scoring settings if you want, but my team's below. Keep in mind it's a 12-person league, too, and I had 4th overall pick. Probably picked my backup QB way too early, but in case Vick went down early on in the season, I wanted a really solid backup. Also, AP, Jamaal Charles, and Arian Foster went 1/2/3.

    QB - Michael Vick
    WR - DeSean Jackson
    WR - Anquan Boldin
    WR - Hines Ward
    RB - Peyton Hillis
    RB - BenJarvus Green-Ellis
    TE - Rob Gronkowski
Bench - Steve Smith (Carolina wideout)
    Bench - Joseph Addai
    Bench - Joe Flacco
    Bench - Pierre Thomas
    Bench - Willis McGahee
    Bench - Jermaine Gresham
    Bench - Jason Snelling
    K - Mason Crosby (GB)
    Def - Saints

law firm is going to be TERRIBLE in fantasy this year. #1 back yes, but woodhead is going to get way more looks because of the disguises they can do with him (yes, he can block and catch very well) and now they have 2 other running backs in ridley and vereen that are going to be awesome. dump him now imo in a trade that looks lopsided to others

Agreed, I don't think BJGE is gonna have a good year at all and for a rushing-heavy league you're kind of lacking in good RB's, personally would have drafted CJ2K as first pick knowing he got his money now. He may not be gold for the first week or 2, but after that he'll be great.

argh, I really wanted Woody but he was taken so I had to go with BJGE. I actually only put a waiver claim in on Snelling, I had Ridley drafted beforehand too because he was a beast in his first two preseason games, so I just cancelled that before it went through. Should I start BJGE for week one or Ridley then? BJGE has to get more looks than Ridley at least in game 1, right?

Edit: yeah I thought about taking CJ. Draft was last night though, there was no way of knowing he'd sign his contract so soon. Figured he'd be a holdout a la Logan Mankins last year.

id start addai over BJGE honestly. I think he will get more carries with either peyton not playing or reducing his throws. i dont think ridley is a better start over BJGE, but he will likely eat up a few goal-line scores this year. Ridley is more of a powerback than vereen/midget and will split carries outside the 20s with BJGE

Ah didn't know draft was last night. Personally I wouldn't play any NE RB in fantasy until they get their shit sorted(which they probably won't). I'd rather take a risk on McGahee at home to the Raiders and hope he gets some goalline touches, or Addai, or try and trade up for a non NE RB.

    My last two teams.

12 Team, Standard Rules. Lots of IF players imo but if they do as well as I hope I think it will be a beast team. I've been trying to trade S.Johnson, LT, T.Jones and M.Floyd but nobody will take them for anything I consider fair. One guy has Roddy White, Andre Johnson and Brandon Lloyd but won't accept any deal I offered him(It's not a PPR and his RBs are D.Will, F.Jax and M.Tolbert and thats it, lol).

14 Team PPR. Was my first ever Auction and I didn't have much time to mock/prepare since I joined about 6hrs before the draft.(someone dropped out late) Not real happy with the team as I screwed up and bid on M.Turner for 40$. got Rodgers for 49$ which I felt was good but other QBs went for less and it wasn't good. Some guy was afk most the draft and overbid on everyone at the end so I couldn't get any solid backups either. (Hightower for 28$, Fred Jackson, Welker, Britt all over 20$, etc) I'm happy with my WRs though and it's PPR so I guess I might have a chance.

and yes, I think the Redskins D is a sleeper D. If not who cares, it's a D.

Also, need some help on a trade in the spoiler below.
    Spoiler: show

Dude in my 14 PPR Auction never really picked up a QB and I was trying to work out a trade with him. I offered Turner/Garrard for McCoy just to start things off and he's interested but his counter of Turner/VJax/Garrard for McCoy/Parrish/Henne was retarded. His team is below, wondering if anyone sees a better deal, where I can pick up McCoy.

My PPR team is the picture above with Rodgers.

Thanks demo/aragon, I'll try and trade up. as far as addai vs. mcgahee, here's my week 1 matchup:

    http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/6317/matchup.png

I think I'm favored but it's hard to tell. worth slotting McGahee or stick with Addai and hope he stays concussionless for the game?

you should be fine. I'd consider picking up aaron hernandez to ride your bench for the first week as well, as I have a sneaking suspicion he will be a better fantasy player than gronk this year from my impressions from camp and preseason. If you have a bench spot that is.

You should be fine this week. I'm not high on WR heavy fantasy teams, as that shit can be so fucking random.

edit: stick with addai over mcgahee

Hernandez is already picked up, and from what i've read, Gronk is supposedly incredibly familiar with the playbook this year, so I can only imagine him building on his success from last year. Plus he seems more durable -- wasn't Hernandez out a few games last year with an injury? or did I make that up?

law firm may not be due for another 1k yards, but he's still going to be the goal line back on a very effective offense that lacks big WR to throw to inside the 10, ditch him at your own peril

Here's a lok at my 3 teams so far.

    Team 1
    Spoiler: show
This is a standard 12 team H2H league with friends of mine.
    QB - Matt Schaub
    RB's - AP/Shonne Greene
    WR's - V.Jax, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith(Car)
    TE - Mercedes Lewis
    K - Alex Henery
    DST - Cowboys

Bench - Sam Bradford, Mark Ingram, Jonathan Stewart, Danny Amendola & Steve Smith(PHI)

I hate my TE and DST I don't mind dropping in and out each week depending on match ups, I have AP on the trade block, looking for a RB/TE or RB/WR combo in return for him.

    Team 2
    Spoiler: show
This is a Flex H2H league.
    QB - Matt Schaub
    RB's - AP/Cedric benson
WR - Greg Jennings, Marques Colston
    TE - Owen Daniels
    Flex - Joseph Addai
    K - Neil Rackers
    DST - Eagles

Bench - Peyton Manning, Santana Moss, Danny Amendola, Steve Smith(PHI), Brent Celek.
I took 2 good QB's because I just couldn't pass up on Peyton in the 4th round, I took him for the soul purpose of trading him when he's 100% healthy, knowing that I can get better then a 4th rounder for him.

    Team 3
    Spoiler: show
This is also a 12 man Flex H2H league.
    QB - Philip Rivers
RB's - Jamaal Charles, Ryan Grant
    WR's - Greg Jenning, Ocho
    TE - Dallas Clark
    Flex - Marshawn Lynch
    K - Neil Rackers
    DST - Bears

Bench - Braylon Edwards, Steve Smith(CAR), Javon Ringer, Kyle Orton, Michael Crabtree.

I hate this team the most out of all my teams, too many ifs in my RB situation and I don't like that at all.

They're all money leagues, ones amongst friends and the other 2 are at Fanball.com, still looking for a better site then fanball to get in a couple more drafts this weekend, so looking for suggestions still.

sorry but if you have completely different teams in every league you're in, you're not playing fantasy football any more than someone that submits 10 completely different brackets for march madness

I'll wait it out the first week and see what happens. I'm inclined to think that for this first week, Miami does a better job stuffing the run against NE than the Texans do against Indy.

I completely disagree with this sentiment. Being in different draft spots across different leagues can result in you having drastically different teams, as can having different quality competition in each of your leagues. Also, leagues having different rules and point systems can also result in different teams.

Edit: Even disregarding those three reasons above, your first pick itself could dictate the rest of your draft strategy. If you land a QB late in the first round, for example, the rest of your draft is going to be different than if you landed a RB. Thus, you end up taking different positions at different times, and end up with different players.

Once you get past the first 2 rounds it's way, way too equal to blame anything on draft position and competition. If you have a few different players, sure. If you have 1 player the same, you're just guessing.

Of course they're different, drafting against different people in different positions with different rosters types, makes for different teams lol. When I draft I don't go out and say, hey I gotta make sure I have this guy on my team every time. I generally know how to build my teams, but a lot of it has to do with what's available when my turn comes around, which is all dependant on how other people have drafted.

Eeek. I uh, agree with Plow. Fuck my life.

Between 7 leagues there's certain players that I have on almost every single team, and if they're not, I damn sure tried to get them. It's partially to maintain consistency so it's easier to know who to start at a glance. Primarily though, it's players that I'm really confident in.

Having totally different line ups just seems to scream "they had the highest pre-rank at that position at the time."
