rumors flying that carson will report back shortly.
lol
BGE has an odd number of teams btw
He's taking his talents to South Beach.
I'm looking for an owner for IDP that satisfies two conditions:
1) Knows their shit (IDP-wise) and won't bow out
2) Is not in BGE/BGW (or not in any leagues maybe)
EDIT: Draft is tomorrow @ 2pm EST
I'd do IDP but I've never done it so I think I would suck. It scares the shit out of me
Actually, I didn't mean to write specifically BGE/BGW -- I think preferably someone that is active but missed the boat on joining other leagues is the preference.
#1 is much more important. IDP is really not THAT hard to draft, to give you an idea with our scoring system, it just means you cannot win without a strong defense. You can have the most stacked offense in the league, but if you're trotting defensive players like Carlos Rogers or Fat Albert out there, you're going to be annoyed for losing on a weekly basis.
QBs aside, the defensive players are somewhat comparable. Because defensive stats are more universal, you get a lot more parity as well among players at each position. To give an idea of what I mean, RB#2-RB#13 scored within 200-260 points on our format (Arian Foster being the #1 outliar with 350pts). Similarly, the top-11 LBs scored between 200-250 points. LBs on defense and RBs on offense are somewhat comparable (and you play a minimum of two) and are the cashcows of your defense. And there are plenty to go around, and the position is much deeper than any other.
Then you get your Safeties and Corners, the aggregate of which is comparable to WR + TE combo. Lastly, you get Dlinesmen which pick up the slacks where any defensive position might fall short of its offensive "counterpart"
In sum, the league is my personal favorite because it's the deepest format. It's the best way to watch football as well -- I don't just care about "BAL Defense" just as I wouldn't be drafting 'IND Offense" on draft day -- I care about players.
The offensive positions are standard without a flex (3WR), and defense is:
1 Flex IDP
1 Flex DB
1 DL
2 LB
1 Safety
1 CB
hey who you calling fat albert
he's gonna beast this year JUST YOU WAIT. the man said he loves NE, the coaching staff, the owner, etc and wants to be a patriot for life. you will be proven wrong!
but more likely I will be
i'm normally hate rabid skins fans, but they're right to feel betrayed after he took a shit on them and acted like a little bitch...
he'll probably revitalize his career in NE and become a top-DL again. that is, until he finds some room to complain/take off on plays...
patriots were in a 3-4 formation in ~35% of snaps last year. When Bill was asked if they were "switching" to a 4-3 this year after they traded for albert, he got kinda pissed and said 3-4 and 4-3 mean nothing and good teams should be running a good mix of it to play toward situation and player strengths.
ahh I see, so it's basically a "well for a chance at a super bowl and plenty of time with someone beside me, I don't mind doing some NT when needed" kind of deal
Yep. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sp...-organization/
albert is loving NE
