Yes. Trust me, that rule of thumb works out way more than not. It's a rule of thumb, so of course there will be instances where it doesn't work out. Week 1 would be a prime example. But over the years, it has helped me much more than hurt me.

I made the best play ever today. I picked up Ben Tate in case Foster gets hurt again to have the next few weeks, and picked up Jermaine Gresham to start in a flex over Branch.
