Oh I agree that Cruise has more than enough crazy to do it on his own, but MI:2 came out well before it became public knowledge and the couch jumping happened.

I don't think his career ever exactly died. It's not like he still doesn't get plumb roles, he's just no longer the #1 movie star in the world; he still makes a shitload of money for the one film he does every year. $20 million for four months of work? If that's "killing your career," sign me up for some couch jumping.

Fuck the haters on Tom Cruise. Dude is crazy, but can still put in a decent effort in movies. A really good cast for this movie.

Anil Kapoor from Bollywood / Slumdog Millionaire, Michael Nyqvist from the Millennium series. Josh Holloway, JJ's buddy from Lost.

He never really slowed down making movies.. looking at IMDB, he's averaged 1.5 movies a year his entire career. The coach jumping hurt him sure, but it was his fall out w/ major studios and Valkyrie that fucked him. He went off and started his own production company to just make his own movies so he's making a lot more than $20mill a year at this point, notice that the trailer says this is a Tom Cruise / JJ Abrams Production, not Lionsgate or w/e. Both them niggas gonna get paid.

I can't believe you left out Jeremy Renner.

I actually liked the 3rd movie in the series and am looking forward to this one. What really got me excited from the trailer was the Burj Dubai scenes though, I'm a sucker for that building.

Tom Cruise is crazy, but he's nice crazy, not nasty horrible crazy like Mel Gibson or Charlie Sheen. You can't help but love Tom Cruise and his craziness.

Jeremy Renner deserves big awesome roles.

    Also, Josh Holloway. Whee.

This movie looks pretty slick. Will go see.

I like how they ditched the numbering system. I wonder if that's how they're going to handle new Star Trek movies too.

Tom Cruise is and always will be the man, don't care how crazy he is. The man was in Collateral which is my favorite movie of all time.

I feel the opposite. I forgot this was being made at all cause it seems like FOREVER since I saw pics of Cruise waving at random people as he scaled the building.

This is also the first non-animated movie Brad Bird(The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille) has directed.

Mission: Impossible--Ghost Protocol has has a new release date. Deadline reports that Paramount has moved the film from its December 16, 2011 release date to Wednesday, December 21. Not only does that mean it will be released in the prime holiday spot, but it will also not have to open against Warner Bros' Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows nor the Alvin and the Chipmunks sequel. Instead, it wll open against the David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and be released two days before The Adventures of Tintin, Summit's The Darkest Hour, Fox's We Bought A Zoo, and FilmDistrict's release of the Angelina Jolie-directed In The Land Of Blood And Honey.

Deadline also reports that Paramount is about to formalize a February 8, 2013 release date for One Shot, the Christopher McQuarrie-directed adaptation of the Lee Child mystery novel series that the studio hopes will launch another Cruise franchise. Cruise committed earlier this month to play Jack Reacher, "a retired military policeman who wanders the country with his toothbrush, the clothes on his back and his bankbook and inadvertently gets involved in conspiracies that find him taking the side of the powerless and exploited. He often settles matters with explosive violence."

Cruise is a good actor when he gets the right roles. I loved him in Last Samurai and a lot of his earlier stuff (Outsiders, Cocktails, Risky Business). I think Valkyrie and MI:2 were really the only disappointments.

If I didn't already know I was in a thread about Tom Cruise, I might not have known that was him in that pic.
