I got in right when it came out from a friend at google, and honestly I'm not sure why I don't like it. I think the biggest thing is to me, the biggest strength of a social networking sight is the amount of my friends who use it. Right now, that's not even close to my facebook. Also, I'm finding it hard to connect with people who are on there. There doesn't seem to be any like same network friend suggestions. I'm also not sure if there is a friend system such that people know when you add them to a circle of any kind.

I feel the same way, but the reason the site comes off like that is because it's not really a competition to facebook. It looks like facebook, and it behaves like facebook, but for the time being it's less of a social network and more of a social network overlay to already-existing google products that integrates them on the basis of social interaction. if anything, it challenges linkedin instead of facebook. I don't see g+ as a substitute for facebook at all.

I've been playing with G+ the day after it went beta. There was a window where you could openly send out invites but Google removed it for the time being (my guess the influx of new people was more than they expected). There are however a few work arounds that some folks have tried and seems to work (or until Google shuts that down for now). Ie. Making a post, and directly sharing that post with a person via their e-mail address. If they aren't already in G+ they will be prompted to join. I haven't tried this work around myself, but if anyone is interested PM me directly on here with your e-mail address and I can try it out and see if it works.

Edit: Alright I grabbed some e-mail address on here and trying the work around. Lets see if this works.

sono i tried to share a post which should email you and give you the option to join, not sure if this still works my mom was able to get in this way about 12 hours ago. if it does work everyone else should be able to get in.
