I guess. Been taking his drug tests since before I moved in with him though. I moved in w/ him at 15. Been taking his drug tests since either 12 or 13. Started w/ my brother, then my uncle, then my other uncle lol

Idk, the poor nutrition would at the very least have a high possibility of making you more tired throughout the day. Im way more tired when I dont eat enough for long periods of time. Your body has obviously adapted somewhat, but theres gotta be a limit. You eat less than 2k per day dont you? And you ride your bike to and from class, run, and hit the gym.
That's definitely nothing new though. Last year around this time, I was actually eating worse than I am now. As far as living situations go, it's bad, but it's been worse. Even on my off days (I only go to the gym 3 days a week), I'm feeling tired as fuck and still only getting about 4hrs of sleep
I work strange hours on call a lot and my sleep gets all fucked up, hard to relax and chill when my body is tired. I found this remedy by accident while having seasonal allergies, Benadryl (Diphenhydramine). Like $3 for a bigass bottle. Take too much and you'll wake up with a hang over feeling. If I can't relax for sleep I'll take one pill(25mg) and wake up feeling refreshed and rdy for w/e. I use it once a week or so. I've tried Ambien and didn't like it, had a hang over/zombie feel the next day.
ever try melatonin? it's a natural sleep aid the helps to regulate your sleep cycle. all it does is put you to sleep so no groggy in the morning.
also its impossible to overdose on.
Never tried meds. Something I'll have to look into
Now, we all know you can't afford that.
If any of you were on my FB, youd know I have shitty insomnia. I've been laying here in my bed since about 12cst. I have a whole bottle of sleeping pills that I don't take because they make me feel like shit. Not a big fan of benedryl either. I feel better waking after four hours of sleep without Meds than 8 hours of medically assisted ZzZz's.
Fun fact: your body will produce melatonin while it's dark, which is why people who just lay around have difficulty waking. Best to get in a well lit room as soon as you awake.
I can't remember where I heard this, but I have heard the advice that if you lay in bed with the lights out for 30 minutes, unable to sleep, you should get up and turn the lights on. Read or watch TV for 15-20 minutes then try to go asleep again.
hey, insomniacs. get super street fighter iv AE and come get your ass whooped please. these fights, although boring arent helping with the zzz's
i was about to get on, but i went and got a drink and then my rozerem kicked in so night night
protip: Melatonin is actually a vitamin. that's what isle you'll find it in CS.
when i'm out of rozerem or need to make sure i sleep i typically take between 9-12 mg of melatonin. you should only need 3mg to fall asleep though.
Diphenhydramine is the active sleep ingredient in Tylenol/Advil PM, and most OTC sleep meds, so you can always check to see what's on sale and get the cheapest one by breaking down how many mg's you get for your dollar. I believe Advil PM contains like 38mg per pill, whereas Tylenol, Benadryl, and most OTC sleep meds have about 25mg per pill.
99%(dunno, probably true lol@internetstats) of "insomnia" tendencies are just really bad sleeping habits.
Really dark rooms, consistent schedules, sleep cues, and daytime naps will fix practically everyone in this threads problems; the rest have actual chemical imbalances and need professional help, but it's incredibly unlikely that applies to many if any here.
The biggest factors in successful sleeping habits is having a dedicated sleep area that is as dark as possible, that is used for NO other purpose than sleep...no TVs, no games, no books, just a fucking bed. Well this in and of itself is a sleep cue, it helps to have another sleep cue, a minor activity you only do when you are about to go to sleep.
My general recommendation for just about everyone is to use a night-mask, it serves a dual-fold purpose of making the room darker and acting as a sleep cue when you put it on. It's why the damn things exist in the first place; because they work.
It can take weeks or months to fully adjust to sleep cues; but if you follow these simple guidelines I promise most of anyone's sleeping issues will go away.
Really, shit's simple and works. It's not even a major life adjustment for most people, just no one ever taught you how to do it right. One of the major benefits is that once you are significantly trained, it becomes very easy to take naps just by activating your cue; when I put my night-mask on I become sleepy really fast any-time of day.
If you go see a sleep specialist they will all tell you exactly what I just did, just saved you fools $1000.
I haven't had a bed in over 8 years, lol. Floor is where it's at
its cool. i slept on a floor for 5 years even in high school. through my obese years, i still never had issues with my back. one of the best ways to sleep, honestly. its just not good if you want to bring a girl over. i would rather have a speed racer bed than show her a carpet with blankets on it
I actually sleep on my stomach. The only way I can fall asleep on my back is if I've been awake for like 30+ hours when I'm trying to sleep. Otherwise, I just lay there for hours and hours and hours until I finally decide to flip over to my stomach.
Whether you actually have a bed or not(it's cool, I sleep on the floor too), the point was it's important that you have a designated sleeping area that is separated from your normal living area; because we physiologically relate our state of minds to different areas. Don't matter if you build a fucking pillow fort in your living room; as long as there's a clear "this is where I fucking sleep" boundary.
Trust me, from the sound of it you don't have any serious insomnia, just really bad sleeping habits like most of America.
