That's almost the perfect percentage of healers. 5-man parties and almost 1 in 5 players is a healer class, 19.6%. I think there should probably be a bit more lancers though but there could be some warrior tanks. A nice spread of classes to be honest.

I chose Castanic because I liked it, and because I thought Elin would be the most popular race. I was wrong.
I chose Warrior because I figured it'd be would be hard to find and too difficult for most players. I was wrong.
Its not every day that I find myself in the popular majority. An odd feeling indeed.

I chose Female because I find them aesthetically pleasing, knowing full well most would choose female. I was right. For a change.
I thought class distribution would be horribly imbalanced towards damage classes, with tank and mages being in the minority. I was wrong.

I find this pleasantly surprising, though. Assuming 1 healer, 1 tank, and 3 dps in a typical party, the class distribution (at optimum) would be 20% tank, 20% mage, and 60% dps. According to those statistics, its 26.1% tank, 19.6% mage, 54.1% dps. These are very close to where they should be. In fact, this might represent a better spread, due to Warriors (16.1%) and their ability to switch to a dps role when needed. I'm not sure whether to credit the players for choosing correctly, or to credit BHS for making the game balanced with all classes attractive. If the retail release is anything like this, it should be smooth sailing finding a balanced party.

The rest of the statistics don't surprise me. The 71.9% never reaching Lv.10 can be explained due to 50% of the people on the Island of Dawn being trolls. Its sad that the free beta keys were wasted on these pathetic excuses for human flesh.

The hardcore element, while important, does only represent a small segment of the population, namely the 1.7% reaching the cap of Lv.32. Players at Lv.11-32 represented only 28.1% of total. That number seems very low to me.

Jagged Coast is the least populated server? I wonder how low it would have been had we decided on Valley of Titans.

And finally, some of my statistics:
    # of times killed by monsters before Lv.20: 0
    # of times killed by monsters after Lv.20: 2
    # of times ganked by players before Lv.20: 5
    # of times ganked by players after Lv.20: 0
(Yep, killed by ganker dickwads more than the game itself. Gotta love it.)

Most of the warrior I partied with don't even know how to tank or just gave an excuse of "I use light equip and I can't block" Funny because you picked a tank class. And while looking for groups the pts still shouted for lancer even tho they had a warrior in their pt, then disbanded if they didn't find a tank.

I wonder how many of that % of warriors actually did "tank" bams.

Would you consider a good Warrior to be on par with a good Lancer when it comes to tanking?

You're going to find more competent Lancers because they take less damage, are far easier to play, and because most people think Rogue, when they see a class that dual wields.

When you find a good warrior, and 4 others who know how to adjust play style for it, you'll lament, to the gods, for why more parties are not like that.

Then you'll remember the first sentence, and likely go off with a Lancer tank.

We're just too early into the US version to make a determination on whether a good Warrior is on par with a good Lancer.

But the impression I'm getting from those who play the Korean servers is that a really good Warrior tank is better than a Lancer, but they're also more rare.

with as many that actually reached the level cap... I guess, they will be leaving the level as is, hopefully in Open beta though it will change O_o

if it stays nearly the same... PVP server should be really interesting.

    <personal CBT3 rant>

So CBT3 ended for EU now. The patch was basicly the same as CBT2 US, but with a lv32 cap. That means we didn't get the infamy changes or the channel swap timer. We did get some weird event that poped crates randomly through out the world which would give some items like high quality dyes (can pick any color from them and they are permanent) or healing soups (rare) that recover a lot of HP. Was ok.

Kept on with my friend on our duo of Slayer and Sorcerer, hitting everything that moved and allowed us to hit. Duo SM at 30 (golds still drop!), bams in the labyrinth, basilisks on their higher level version and the vicious versions... But the other two bams in the desert were mobs I found trully amazing. One is that worm thing that likes to go underground, which we fought as duo too and the other was a lizard that looks like a flower. This one ate our faces

Finaly we killed some of those crabs at the beach. Awesome fight to do and pretty hard as slayer.

I really have no idea how this game got the negative press it's gotten since its release; end game must've been completely absent I guess. There is absolutely no other MMO currently in the market that offers this kind of fights and action. To me it's amazing to be able to have a 15 minute bam fight without needing a healer and knowing it's all on me... even if I have to resort to kitting and bandage spamming at some point!

PvP was fun as hell as usual. Deciding factor in pvp is healers from what I could observe. It was exponentialy harder for us to win anything when there was a healer on the other side because of the constant presure the DDs do on us, limiting the damage output we can use to down the healers themselves. I don't find this a problem though; it actualy means that pvp with two groups that have healers can be more interesting instead of 5 seconds fights.

FInaly, comment that lv32 is a shitty cap. There is a lot of content to do at 32, but all of it is tailored towards level progression. Quests everywhere, bams to fight everywhere, but everything meant to take you to the next level. My quest log was filled with finished and unclaimed quests for the next CBT. I'm sick of CBTs though, can we have the final game already? Please?

Well, remember that you know exactly how the game works and where the min/max cut-offs are. It might be annoying, when people don't get the flow, but it's only normal right now.

Also, the morbid masochist, in me, is kinda hoping for the box event come early release, just to see the shit storm that would create on PvP servers.

Alot people playing tera probably aren't sure of whats going on too much. Like me I just learned about the token gear you can get from medals in the main city.. like 4 hours before the end of CBT3 ;/

May go farming them this upcoming CBT... unsure if want to get'em for archer or berserker though... hmm

Ah, oh well. Well campaign blues are going to be 33 and 36 unenchantable, and D35 gear is R1/R2 at 38 gold/blue, so there you have it. There's also blue 37 unenchantable token gear coming up as well, assuming we get a 37/38 cap next CBT. So now you know, if you get a 37 cap, token gear is R1. If you get a 38 cap, D35 gear is R1.

    Edit:
And lol@boxes in Valley of Titans. Can't even wait.

Can you elaborate a little? I understand most of what you said, in that there are enchantable and unenchantable gears. I get the different colors and rareness. I think I understand that you're saying the story line quests around these levels give blues for lvl 33 and 36. I have looked at the token gear for lvl 32, and it seems quite superior to everything else. I do not understand the "D35 gear is R1/R2 at 38 gold/blue" however. What is D and R?

Do you recommend springing for the gold token gear at lvl 32? Or do you not have it long enough to be worth the extra token farming time at that level?

For token gear, how much enchanting do you have to do to make the enchantable better than the unenchant? Are the enchantables better at this level given how many resources need to be put into them just to have them be replaced in 4-5 levels?

I spent a good 6+ hours killing mobs for blue quality Lv 32 gear (earrings, rings) and got alot green armor/weapons. I was looking to try to figure what level mobs drop what level gear and a pattern so I know what to be killing for what gear (for future crafting/material extraction etc)

Overall the game is pretty fun, couldn't stop playing >.>

I really should save some the junk I find (weapons/armor) since I may try other classes. (liking berserker though).

randomly.. for PVP, sorc seems to be the most annoying.. since it can keep distance+ put a poison don on you thats like a homing missile >.>

Right before I logged off on Saturday: "You have been playing for 17 hours."
    Thanks for the reminder, game.

I'm going to wait to see what the level cap is in the next beta before I go and obsess about what equips I'm going to enchant.

Edit: Wow, Gulk. 37 hrs wut? Sure you left it on while you sleep, but still.

quick question for you guys. How hot does your CPU get? (if you remember ever checked).

    I have a i7 oc'ed @ 3.6 and it hit like 82c

then i figured it was prob time to dust out my pc/heatsink. Got it down to like 70-75ish after a dusting

As a berserker just make sure you keep an eye on the warning messages and keep blocking. If you run out of MP blocking, use the MP+3% glyph and/or MP+ when hit crystals. That should take care of most of the problem!
As a slayer, never stop moving and dodge the target nuke and root. For that you'll have to keep an eye on the warnings and time it correctly. If you get rooted, you'll likely be slept and fireblasted so it's probably game over. Mostly just keep presure on the sorc with the fireballs and backhand stun and use dash or rush to get out of circles. No need to waste dodge for this. That's all I can think of.

This sounds high. I assume you are on air cooling, but even for that this is above what you should be getting. Better air temperatures on an i7 are probably around 65ºC on an air cooler, so you probably should check the airflow of your case, i.e. how the case fans are setup. You may not be cycling colder air and that would impact the overall temperature.

It's also possible your GPU is heating up a lot and with bad airflow it's not gonna help at all.

My CPU runs much much lower (35-38ºC) on load, but it's a different one so comparing is not that useful.

Just to make sure, if that temperature is coming from your GPU and you mistakenly read it as CPU, then it's perfectly normal. GPUs get ridiculously hot and are made to stand it, generaly speaking.
