there are alternate paths to level, but like most, you'll tend to stay along the "mainstory" (red dot) questing.

Also I can see 1 character main Lv 38 and 1 to lv 30 within the next beta... if you had one at least Lv 32 (and near lv 33)

Once you know where to exp and such, its not too hard... I did 22->32 /99% exp archer and 1->27 berserker in the last beta.

It becomes quicker to level as you've done it once or twice before. You know what quests to skip, at what times to turn them in, ETC.

As for alternate paths of leveling; no. I wish. There are alternate ways of leveling, as Wenrick mentioned, but it usually consists of staying in the same exact zone fighting a different type of mob or something, or simply dungeon leveling.

I know the amount of work needed to be involved, but having multiple areas, regions, continents, ETC that offer similar level ranges would be the best thing to do. Maybe that way, they can minimize the amount of channels needed (2 max) and allow for PVP and PVE when needed/wanted, while keeping the servers nice and full, and pleasing, obviously, the majority of their player base. That would also allow for a more immersive style of leveling. More reason to want to level, as oppose to just rush to end-game and quit after a month. Both main and alts alike.

Has anything about name reservation for retail been discussed besides just that it will be taking place? Wondering if it will just be a mad dash when open beta starts or if it will be a separate event. My bad if this has been discussed/answered elsewhere.

With the automated channel system; staying on a beta launch server would be ideal in having a healthy population after 60 days and yet not be climbing over each other in the initial exp rush.

I couldn't get my name in the last three games I played, and they were all taken by level 14s.

In reference to the ways to level, there are plenty of different places to go , its not as linear as you might think, the "main story" splits here and there letting you do different stories, in themselves they take you to different places. With the binding item you get from doing a repeat quest, all main story quests are soloable (item is only usable on main story quest based mobs you cant normally fight solo). Even outside of the main story driven areas for leveling (i skipped valley of titans main mission on the second beta, so never ended up leveling anywhere near that entire zones quest hubs), there are places like the tanguanese or however you spell them, there is nothing that takes you there unless you wanted to follow a single quest hubs request to help out another quest hub, from there there is an entire village of mobs you can kill (I did this during first beta and was able to grind exp pretty fast for the repeat system, tho by the time you hit the 30's this area should be to low for questing in now.), High level 30+ I dont think there is anything that takes you to the farms north of the popri town you travel too at that level, but there many quests up there instead of heading into the mines where one of the main story flags take you. All in all, you can easily go to a less crowded area, with the exact same quests but different mobs. Hell, I know alot of people, like those who where pvping loved to go to the bandit area and follow the north story path, I zoned up there and the entire camp was red, yet everyone else in the guild was in the southern map by the popori. All are level 30 zones, all with there own dungeons and quests.
For those saying its not different since its just the same quest different looking mob, then you should take your time and read, every area has its own problems, and you are there to solve them pretty much. Where in every game, you will have to fight a mob, for a quest, to get a reward, the difference comes from the background and story. Do you like fighting off bandits in there hideout, or fending off cult vampires driving the locals insane with a miasma? It might just be that im not a push button receive level kinda person, and enjoy the time the makers put into the games background, the bad puns npc's use alone are good enough to lighten the mood every once in awhile.

Cool New Stuff

In PvP situations, player level will be exposed when you target another player (just like monsters display their level). This should help those "fight or flight" decisions.
Doubled the maximum number of characters you can type into all chat channels. We promise it won't go all "Barrens chat" on you, though.
Increased difficulty from levels 1–15 on an experimental basis. Players will have less HP and return to baseline by level 20. That red bar at the top of your screen? Kinda important.
Terron Treasure Trove Event: Added surprise boxes around the world (except for Island of Dawn). We'd tell you more, but then it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?

Bugs Squashed

Certain quest items were nonexistent due to continent restrictions, but now they're back. Quest gatherables and monsters will be back in Osgarath province for level 30–33 characters.

Sounds like the same event where you pop the box and treasure boxes pop out for you to loot. These dropped the blue quality dyes, which gave you a much larger color spectrum, possibly permanent, and in one event, a white colored horse that had lvl 40 speed at lvl 10.

That treasure box drops either a blue or red present egg. I was seeing a lot of those during last 3rd Eu Beta.
Some drops I got:
-A super healing item that instantly restored max HP and cd of 30 seconds. (x2) if you get it.
-Blue dyes with RGB color selections (x3)
-2 Teleport scrolls to velikia(sp?) xD
-2 campfires
-level 23 white crystals (random) I got crit and increase movement during combat crystals mostly.

That's all I got not sure if there is more.
