You deserve to be called Pinkie Pie, Gulk. It suits you so well.
And yowza to the adult Elin. Should be some sort of time-skip version of them, even if they do live for hundreds of years and just never change their size/shape.
Cash shop or bust.
Poor Gulk
Late for the controversy, but here I am:
About enchanting changes (beware, personal rant incoming):
I understand that the knee-jerk reaction of some people would be "they are making it easy! Welfare +12s now!", but this is clearly EME taking the feedback that NCSoft decided to ignore about Aion (will they be sued for it too?).
I played Aion from release and quit at the exact 2 year mark. In that time, I saw so many people bitch about getting ganked, about shitty PvE, about unfair PvP... but they would still play. There was one thing (well, two, but they are the same) that actualy made people rage, give up and toss the game aside: manastone socketing and item enchanting. That is, in a single concept, randomized negative progression.
This even happened to peaople near me. One of my friends simply said "I'm done" after failing to socket a piece of gear and spending the cash she had made on the last month or so, only to remain with no money and a worse item than she started with. Later on my second friend, which was much less prone to raging, went through the same. Enchanting his weapon and failing despite using a copious amount of supplements (aka, more money) for it.
The only time I was really really mad with the game was during these actions. It was not fun when I finaly socketed or enchanted my gear to +10, not at all. The feeling was more around the "finaly done with this fucking bullshit".
A system like this is simply wrong. Video games should provide challenge, fun, entertainment and ofcourse situations that you won't really like. But failures need to have a meaning: if I fail at a boss, it has to be because I need to improve, it has to tell me "You are not good enough for this, yet", so that I can plan a new course of action, bring friends to patch up my faults, get better gear or items I may need, etc.
When the dice tells me "Fuck you... lol.", I recieve nothing. I get nothing from failing, just the sense that some digital god is laughing at me.
And for this, I'm glad EME did this. In fact, I find it awesome and this is probably the best long term change they could've done. Ofcourse, just like others in this thread, I do hope that the game is prepared to handle this change and that the change doesn't break other areas that could've been depending on the shitty version of the system.
EDIT: Just to clarify: I understand the system remains escencialy random, but the removal of negative progression makes random events easier to deal with. Yes, it sets me back each time I fail because I lose the money I'm currently investing to try to make it higher, but at least I'm not losing something I already had. Playing for a month to get some gear enchancement and end up with worse gear just because the system decided to makes no sense.

@Adult Elin:
First thing I thought when I saw it was that I would play this race if it was available. Guess I shouldn't be surprissed at the whole positive reaction over it, hah.
Am I the only one who thinks the adult Elin is fucking creepy? Small and cute please.
I can't see how a tall woman with bunny ears and a tail dressed scantily is more "creepy" than a 9-year-old-looking child/woman with bunny ears and a tail dressed scantily, and this is coming from someone who enjoys his drawn or animated lolis.
@Gulk: Its... strange... to see that you have limits.
I don't know how I missed the no negative on failing thing, but I'll just say this:
Anyone who was in vent during the last beta knows my reaction to this. Anyone who played Aion until I quit last summer knows my reaction to this. I will not display my reception to this on the boards.
However, I might PM my reaction to people in exchange for internets. (or an unlimited supply of Mithra pron. I'm looking at you Gulk)
Oh yea, I was there for that; it wasn't pretty. I wonder if these changes will be implemented in CBT5 though, or are just plans for retail.
Honestly, considering not playing this next beta. I'll log in and pass lead to someone, my school work is starting to get overbearing as the semester comes to an end and I also feel I should save something for launch.
yeah for cbt5 just gonna level classes past dawn island and scope out the looks of each race/class before i settle for one for OB/launch
