If group = alliance, bodes well.Challenge the Nexus
Take action against TERA's toughest terrors...with dozens of friends and allies...while the world hangs in the balance. Not a bad way to spend a Monday night!
In remote corners of Northern Shara, something wants to emerge into the world of TERA. Monsters invade through a hole in reality called a nexus, then terrorize the surrounding area. You can join the battle at a moment's notice. Larger and scarier monsters pour out of the nexus as time goes on, but if you fight hard enough, you can close the nexus, keep part of the world safe—and earn a share of high-level loot.
A nexus is the perfect place to go when you want a great action experience but need to be flexible about grouping and time. When you enter a nexus, it all happens automatically: you're put in a group, you're given the relevant quests, and you'll receive your fair share of the rewards. Participate as long as you like. The nexus is a dangerous place, and it's not going to run out of bad guys anytime soon.
Feature at a Glance
Staged Invasions: Nexuses amp up the action in three stages, each with its own monsters, quests, and rewards.
Public Quests: Step into a nexus, and you automatically receive a quest. Help your fellow players stop the invasion, and the rewards and reputation are yours.
Truly Massive Monsters: How massive? Some nexus invaders will take 30 or more players to kill.
There it is a bug I think that makes everyone in the group get full loot and xp even if they don't do anything. I've seen people die and stay dead the whole event and still get full loot and xp.
Here is a really good video of the Nexus. As you can see it is exactly like Rifts from Rift. Sky goes dark and Nexus form and then the monsters spawn with different stages, the last stage spawns a Super BAM that takes 40+ people to take down.
Well, at least it looks cool.
That's the most shameless copy+paste I've ever seen, but that's ok. Rifts are a great concept.
For those that didn't know BHS was having major problems with these as the servers would keep crashing whenever a monster invasion would happen. The Nexus work now, but it is still very unoptimized, so I know lots of people getting very bad frame rates while doing these. BHS has stated they will get this fixed asap.
(Yea for the Koreans being our Beta testers...lol)
The Nexus all have timers, they spawn every 2 hours from 2pm to 8 pm Korean time. If the Nexus are not taken out they will spawn monster invasions. But not to worry, the monster invasions and Nexus despawn after 1 hour.
There are currently 2 different kinds of Nexus. A Red Nexus has a super BAM. A Blue Nexus just has monster waves that you need to zerg down. There is also a number when you look at the Nexus, this will determine how difficult the Nexus is.

Looking at the map you can see the different Nexus that are spawning
The reward system for doing these Nexus is a reputation currency. The more you do them the more rep currency you get. Also there are daily quests you can do as well.
There is a Nexus merchant which you can exchange your rep currency for gear. The gear is comparable to the T13 gear you get in the lvl 60 dungeons, except it can have PVP stats on it. So with no BG's till late summer this will be your main pvp gear till then.
You can also use rep currency to buy green crystals and to buy the cool panther mount.
Nothing wrong with taking a perfectly good idea from a something that flopped in execution. Hopefully TERA can do a better job.
Really like how they enter. The neat looking things in the sky and you see the ships start to materialize in. Looks pretty awesome, although the constant pop ups of windows looks to be a bit annoying. Guessing the mobs are suppose to look all metallic and oil covered. Also guessing the constant DoT on everyone is part of the event.
What is the new counter bar under the target's health bar? I see it going up to 10 during some of the fights. I thought it might be an enrage bar, but it didn't seem like it. Special ability bar?
The green circles on the ground, they seem to be from what I'm guessing is the new Mystic totem?
Wonder how they'll be on a PVP server. I do hope it doesn't turn out like the BAM event on CBT.
Damnit! it said we could create characters to 4/17 but I can log in and remake mine...CURSE YOU TERA CUUUURRRRRRSE YOUUUUU
preorder cancelled, titanic MMO, etc etc.
Sounds awesome! The starting island was kind of boring, quest-wise. http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/n...ved-early-play
Tired of games that start you in an out-of-the-way village where the chieftain wants you to collect coconuts in the jungle? TERA's new playable prologue starts you right in the middle of the action: a beachhead under assault by demonic forces. It's not just a cutscene—you'll be fighting big-ass monsters within minutes, learning the controls as you go.
The thrills don't stop when you leave the prologue behind. We've adjusted the storyline quests throughout the first 20 levels to challenge you as they reveal more of TERA's deep lore. The boss monsters in particular got upgrades they can't wait to test out...on you!
Feature at a Glance
Playable Prologue: You become part of a beach landing gone awry. Can you save your allies and prevent a military disaster?
Badder Bosses: New tactics and deadlier attacks from early-level foes. You'll earn those levels.
Quest Variety: Dozens of new quests that take TERA far beyond repetitive "hunt," "gather," and "deliver" tasks, and reveal the world's rich history and cultures.
