Wtb Lv60 retail O_o
6th time trying to install this shit. I can't even begin to figure out what fucked up, but I'm fully willing to blame EME for it.
Sweet baby jeebus, I finally got past the login screen and am now downloading the patch. I had to remove StmOCX.dll from the TERA folder and replace it with one I downloaded from some random website ^^;
Unfortunately the 1-8 patch I downloaded just yesterday doesn't seem to be being used... it's now downloading into a folder named 1-9 T.T
I'm having that same issue still Elcura. They finally updated their troubleshoot page so you can now download the patch1-9 in zip form.
I'm doing that now but it's gunna be 3 freaking hours so... we'll see if that fixes anything... I'm sure it won't though because as soon as they introduce another tiny ass patch it'll break again. fufufufufu
I'm getting those checksum errors and I'm not using a laptop. =/
I'm using a laptop and I've had zero problems installing and playing. This game is super easy and fun. Hell, I'm not good at PvP but the second I spawned on the Island I was already dueling and kicking ass.
Fiore. Archer. Jagged Coast. Come at me, madbros :D
I was able to get my game to work. FINALLY. with that new update. So hopefully it'll work for you Elcura. If you uninstall the game, try reseting your computer and everything before reinstalling so it doesn't fuck up for ... whatever reason. good luck meng :S
not trying to be a dick but to ppl really like this game in the mmo world? i just played the beta for about 2-3 hours and im not really impressed. some neat stuff, i like the combat but it is a bit clunky and overall the game just feels"cheaply made". maybe im missing something but i dont see how this is any more fun than ff14
I thought the game was very clunky until I was able to start understanding how combo's work, then the pace picked up dramatically. I enjoyed the starter island (although age of conan had the best starter area ever imo) and was a little disappointed to find myself in a forest raping fairies and pigs instead of demons and worrying about some logging community (not very engaging story line for me, needs more demons please). Although I did take sadistic delight in dispatching unicorns. +1 there.
I also found the quest system boring as hell. Kill this, fetch that, find them, deliver this note to next quest hub, etc. But the combat is fun enough and the eye candy is good enough to keep me going for now, even with how ridiculously easy it is to level.
I'm doing the start area for the second time now and after the generic as sh*t intro cs I haven't bothered reading a word of the quest text. During this beta weekend there is also a /random lvl 20 5 minute mission before the start area that I didn't follow either.
I should probably give the story more attention to appreciate it all, but the game still isn't running well on my pc even as I turn down settings and all I keep seeing/hearing about the game is that it's another FFXI where some classes get b-listed. I also watched the stream of an instance and 5-man bosses take raid boss time to kill (10-15 mins + fail retries exactly like a raid).
Seems great in principle, but my PC says it's just not going to happen for me and I'm a bit relieved that I can skip it after the beta.
u explained it better than i did. i like the pretty graphics and combat but the presentation of the game is very generic to me and feels a bit dated. and i really dont like the idiots spamming chat, reminds me of wow. i got up to lvl 3 slayer
then stopped. does it get better? i know its very early to judge for a mmo but i could be playing koa:amalur instead lol
you realize he is completely trolling you all lol. just ignore him
Story's been kinda lame as I've read it. Got to level 15 before I logged. Combat system aside, it's been pretty much standard MMO fare. I'm still not sure I like the combat system itself (playing a Berserker) as a sort of pseudo-FPS. Then again, I may not entirely understand it (like the direction shit that pops up when you press Q).
