But I took my sick days for this :<
Spoiler: show
i might of gotten close for berserker if I had played the game before. now at least I know where to exp and about what lvl to go. It was really weird going from lv 52 mobs to lv 56 while questing, really slows you down when your unsure you should even go to the next area possibly expecting the same difficulty o_o
If you don't do bam quests in the 50-60 regions you'll end up like me and hit a bit of a dry spot in terms of quests occasionally before you hit your level. Assuming you are solo.
Yep, Would've had lancer prime on dragonfall but i skipped alot of bam quests in 50-60 area due to lack of groups since i was solo most of the time.
Ah is it tough to find parties in the 50+ areas in DragonFall? Is it because people aren't that high yet (in general) or is it because of the SWTOR syndrome: a.k.a. modern MMORPG syndrome? Meaning... because it is easy enough to level solo... folks can't be bothered to group up. I hope it is because folks aren't high enough.
If its the latter... then /sadfaceheaddesk
I think it's a combination of the general populace not up that high and people not understanding the LFG tool. I see general and LFG channel spamming, for some quests and dungeons, but practically no LFG groups flagged.
everytime I allow LFG or trade channel its filled w/ gold spammers (its ironically nearly the only time, outside a few instances, where I see them), so I can understand why ppl use area chat instead since it covers that entire zone and not just the specific areas. LFG feature also seems to be finicky and not always work properly. There have been a handful of times where I accept the que and then get ported directly outside of the instance and am unable to enter. And then you are forced to drop (since you can't be kicked unless inside the instance) and take a 15 minutes debuff. So w/that said, spending 15-20 minutes making a party isnt a big deal (especially for those who used to play XI, Aion, or oldschool WoW before LFG)
I'm guilty of this. Could you explain the LFG tool?
I've gotten my berserker to 30 solo no problem. The few quests that needed a group, there were always people already there looking for DPS (amazing to me, use to too many DPS in most MMOs). The only place I had trouble was at the Mansion, but it was 3:30 in the morning. Since it was an instance anyway, I just used the instance finder this morning while doing other quests, and only waited 15 minutes.
For me, I generally don't like partying with people I don't know just because you have such a wide spectrum that comes with it..... I do it occasionaly though, of course I do. It's just in general I would rather skip BAM quests and move on than waste time looking for a group that could be full of bads when I'm not with my friends.
Instances are the same way, but queueing makes it much less work. Though you still do get people like the Lancer my friend and I got earlier when we queued up for sky gardens. You know the ones, the kind that don't taunt and argue with you about strategy/mechanics of a specific dungeon even though they have never ran it themselves and giving them advice sets them off.... Lol.

@Faelindae
@Uryuu
Awesome thanks for the responses. Phew, good to know it is for those reasons and not the other. Yeah gotta love the tanks that don't taunt... like JP NINs. I kid I kid.

Guilty not using the LFG tool as well, most of the time you would see me sending out area LFG/LFMs. I would say it's been pleasant so far, only encountered two bad Lancers (one that kept pulling the whole room in CR trying to skip mobs, another that kept letting the healer (me) die in NT)
I've even friended 3 people that ganked me while questing and having some people I've met so far come assist me in a kill squad. After ganking them back we had a good old fashioned 3v3 brawl where they were destroyed and we all had a good time. I was pretty surprised at the maturity of the players I've met so far.
I haven't really had an issue... but i duo my mystic with a lancer... usually end up doing BAM quest with only 2 DPS once with only 1 DPS and a priest. That said in game name same as forum name, i prefer to dungeon, or quest with people i've gotten to know vs always randoms.
The way this game calculates damage really confuses me.
Spoiler: show
Mob in question is Level 36, outside Tulufan.
First image: 9500 Defense; hit for 2-6 points on average.
Second image: 500 Defense; hit for 170-190 on average.
Third image: 1 Defense; hit for in excess of 120,000+ on average.
Apparently earrings are really OP in this game.
Can't see your images for some reason. Damage must scale exponentially after a certain point. Probably a psuedo level check.
The values are generally within the realm of reasonable of a simple equation of Attack/Defense = damage.... Without seeing the other mods on your ear/equipment, or glyphs or whatnot to see if there are any differences in your defense stat or whatever it's called, it's hard to go any further.
