There's a 17% (iirc) cast speed for hellfire that's a must. -250mp for hellfire is also nice, especially at lower lvls.

When you have a retainer out whether it's summoned or not, it's health will appear below yours and above other members in your group along with it's current health bar, and items it has sold(if any).

Ah, see now, that actually sounds like a decent system then. I had wondered what that icon status bar was, and that's a pretty nice way to keep track of it. Thanks.

It is a really good system. I call them retainers but they're nothing like XIV's retainers. People tend to place them in the towns relevant to what they have for sale. It's convenient to avoid tax from posting in the AH and items usually sell fairly quickly on them. You can also post a message to them stating what's for sale which shows up above their head in a word bubble. Players have the option to turn this feature on or off through their menu.

The only thing I'd like to see them fix is putting a radius around NPCs where retainers can't be placed. People like to put their retainers right on top of NPCs so you go to talk to the NPC and you get their retainer instead

    Okay so a few questions.

Level cap right now is 58 which might change on NA release correct? What is HP pools and damage like(for most classes and tanks, numbers wise)?

Other then buying stones to force PvP, is there an area in the game other then the cross server area to pvp without needing to flag someone? (thinking wintergrasp/Tolbarad here from wow)

Is there PvP gear and rewards that are worth getting? What advantages does PvP gear have vs PvE if there is?

What things are there to do at level cap other then craft, PvE and PvP? Any long quest chains, achievement system, collectibles, or anything that can keep you busy?

Are rare spawns in the game and how are they done and worldspawns? WoW style where its nice if you run into them for a blue or FFXI where X mob drops ridill all over again and its BiS for 6+ years?

Lastly in regards to PvP does anyone think they will change the flag rule for PvP servers or is it not as bad as it sounds?

Depending on what patch we release with here in NA/EU, it could be 58 or 60 but I believe those are the only two possibilities. I can't speak on the HP pools/damage, as I don't play and haven't gotten close to end game.

On PvP servers you can declare pvp (force pvp) on anyone, anywhere (excluding safe-zones of course), at any given time. On PvE servers, the vanarchs of provinces will be able to turn that province from a PvE province into a PvP province and vice-versa, given they have the policy points. But other than that, I believe on PvE servers that will be the only time you run into forced pvp.

Is there PvP gear and rewards that are worth getting? What advantages does PvP gear have vs PvE if there is?

I believe it has been said, albeit not all that definitively, that there is not going to be a separation of PvP and PvE gear. You can though get rewards through pvping, but once again I'm not sure exactly what as I don't play. Foxer would be your go to guy for these questions. :D

The main thing they've been pushing for end game content is their political system, but there is also a couple very challenging 5 man dungeons to run. There is also an achievement system in place.

Are rare spawns in the game and how are they done and worldspawns? WoW style where its nice if you run into them for a blue or FFXI where X mob drops ridill all over again and its BiS for 6+ years?

There are many world bosses around, which would be monsters comparable to rare spawns in WoW.

Lastly in regards to PvP does anyone think they will change the flag rule for PvP servers or is it not as bad as it sounds?

They say they will be doing Alpha testing for their pvp servers/system in the fall. The fact that they will not be changing the pvp system from the Korean pvp system put the community into an absolute fucking rage. I, honestly, don't believe they will change much of it. But, come release and people are continuing to rage about it, I believe they will be forced to do something.

Speaking of PvP how does Priest fare in PvP? Do they get absolutely raped or do they actually stand a chance?

I'm not talking about only mass-PvP, also 1vs1.

Group pvp, they're usually the first to go down. 1v1 they're pretty decent, a good priest can usually keep himself alive, which sometimes leads to duels timing out, or the Priest dying. Priest can't really take out another player unless the gear is largely in favor of the Priest over the opponent. They get a magic resist buff which makes Sorcerers and Mystic cc almost never able to land.

I recall Foxer saying that the a mount might be available via PvP, so there may be some things you can buy via PvPing. I don't think we've seen info on what specifically can be obtained, via PvP.

There are 5:5 and 10:10 Battlegrounds (BGs) that open up at certain times, while open you can spam BGs as much as you want.
Is there PvP gear and rewards that are worth getting? What advantages does PvP gear have vs PvE if there is?
You buy PVP gear with the token you get from BGs. PVE gear is for PVE, while PVP gear has only +/- PVP dmg bonuses. Also they recently added a fast mount bought with PVP tokens (290 speed iirc)

Grinding for money to gear up and enchant your gear is Tera's time sink. There are no end game long quest chains (Like Aion) or collectables for end game content (FFXI).
Are rare spawns in the game and how are they done and worldspawns? WoW style where its nice if you run into them for a blue or FFXI where X mob drops ridill all over again and its BiS for 6+ years?
I haven't gotten into the new world bosses, but when the cap was 50 the world bosses would drop gear equivalent to what you get from the top instance, but with better base bonuses.
    Added to what TSB said.

I hope eventually they add long quest chains into their end game content.

Is everyone looking to PAX now for an NA release date of this game?

No confirmation on PAX releasing a date, but that's when it's speculated for.

I wouldn't hold my breath for release date at Pax. Sure, that's what fans want, sure that would make sense. But EME has shown lately that they don't care what fans want and they sure as hell don't make any sense

Sums up my thoughts pretty well. We need an En Masse version of the Kanye/Bush Katrina thing.

I was reading the daily Korean gaming news this morning, and to my shock almost on every Korean game site is the news that Yong-Hyun Park is leaving Blue Hose Studios.

Yong-Hyun Park was the lead developer of the L2 team at NCsoft that left to form BHS. He is the creator/lead developer/funder and the head honcho at BHS, and now that he has left, allot of speculation is going around about the future of BHS and TERA, most of it grim news.

In a weird twist, YH Park said he left due to the stress, and the constant conflict with NCoft. But later in the day Jake Song of XL studios (Arche Age) talked about YH Park joining the team. So nobody knows what is going on atm.

Not gonna lie, this is devastating news. What will the future of TERA now hold ?

Doesn't matter what gaming site you go to, they are all reporting it.

Just google 개발자 박용현 실장, 블루홀 퇴사 (YH park leaves BHS) and you will get tons of sites.

Could be worrisome (is that even a word?) Or could be no big deal. Often times a move like that is good for a company, though too might be a big hit.

Despite being at my tolerence limit with Eme, I;ve been sold on tera for years now. As long as there are servers up, i'll be playing it

I don't really know the inner workings of BHS, but I assume that since the game is already up and running with some big patches implemented they can't get hurt too badly from this?
