You’ll be able to create 8 characters per server with the head start but for the name reservation / PCC stage you’ll only be able to create and reserve one character spot and name per account. This step will help us to balance out the server population prior to the head start.

No it freaking wont if you only have 1 server of each type for every language.

Yes, they pushed the dates a bit seems.

Previously character reservation was set to start on the 26th and end on the 27th, with headstart begining on saturday 28th.

It's a nice change since many of us have holidays during monday and tuesday, so it allows us to play during the whole headstart period.

EDIT: As I'm sure I stated before, I'll be in Essenia. Currently unknown what character name I'll start with.

I forgot to update apparently, so stuck with a 1hr30 patch. Hope some of the more generic names I was hoping to use don't get taken (or rather, at least not all of them before actual release)

Currently having this problem as well with my friend, but I cannot delete my character and remake in Samael right now (aparently you can't log into Essenia even if you already have a character).

We are waiting for headstart or later today to finaly decide, based on the following criteria:

If Samael remains "Not Crowded" we'll just deal with the queues in Essenia. The reason is because we have to expect a drop in population after the first months, as with any other game, and we don't want to be stuck in a ghost town.

If Samael actualy starts getting filled and Essenia remains locked we'll probably move to Samael.

NA's had the same problem with Valley of Titan going full with char creator. It opened up for more with que times and was only high pop for open beta, and should normalize soon enough. In 60/90 days it would sure suck if you compromised on server now.

Indeed. I'm not going to make any harsh knee-jerk move just yet; wait and see seems the most sane decision.

Plus, none of my character names have ever been disputed in any game I've played and if any of them was, I'd just make a new one.

Odd comparison considering you're having the same server now as you had during open beta, meaning not nearly everyone who played it will show up for retail.

There were a lot in OBT who won't purchase, just as there will be a lot who will not purchase a month or more than than the first month after the first 30 days. It was more about not panicking about not being able to create early and thinking you'll be locked out on launch.

Past MMOs have shown the non popular EU servers go to shit faster and never reach the same potential from day 1, ie backwater is a higher degree of backwater. Sorry EUs

Don't get me wrong, the reasoning isn't bad (well, sort of), and I agree that from a company standpoint, taking whichever path brings in the most profit is the wisest choice for business, yet at the same time, it just amuses me that they're even trying though; in Korea, in Japan, in America, the game is clearly marked for a Mature, 18+ audience, but Frogster is aiming for PEGI12. They should've known there'd be player backlash.

Marketing it to the widest audience possible is far more profitable than having it try to stay in some loli-friendly niche environment, especially if they're going for a global market. I don't analyze how your player base is shaping up, but if I was German or french I would still go for Essenia.

I would say it's doing as well as it is in Japan because of the loli panties :D

On release, JTera was ¥7000 (approximately $90) to purchase, with a monthly subscription fee of ¥2700 (approximately $35), so I would be inclined to agree that the price could be a large factor as to why it's failing in Japan. If that's changed much (or at all) since, I'm not sure.

When I was setting up my JTera account for the free 40hrs the prices haven't changed much (Made account end of January 2012). In fact, I think it was around 3000yen per month to play unlimited then went down if you wanted to put a certain amount of hours on your account.
